Shikera's eyes opened at the first sound of the trumpet which was always used to wake them up. Like the routine exercise every morning and the general open air breakfast and dinner everyday, this wake up call was just another thing that reminded them they were actually on a trip supervised by soldiers. Having spent five days in this place, Shikera was already used to it.

She roused herself from the bed and slipping her legs into her boots, she picked up her bucket and walked out of the tent to go to the makeshift bathroom. Though she always used the one for the soldiers and not the one for students, Shikera still liked to take her bath as early as possible when everyone was asleep and the campground was quiet without any of those students looking for their boots, or bag, or makeup kit. Those kids surely brought everything they had, on this trip.
