Shikera thought Grandma Cooper would ask more questions about Mignon, but the woman shocked her with her next words.

"Let's not mention her family again. And yours too, alright? You will be completely separated from them."

"I don't think that is possible. My family might not stop searching for me," Shikera disagreed, shaking her head.

# "They will, as long as you completely cut contacts with anyone related to them," Grandma Cooper reassured her, pausing for a while before asking, "About Leah, you really do not know anything more about her, right?"

"It will be alright then," Grandma Cooper stated, taking Shikera's hands into her own frail and bony ones.
