There’s a long way to go

Since it took a long time to look through the whole status, Kai decided to see if he could bring up specific sections of it.

Photosynthesis: The process through which a plant produces sugar. Each level brings up the speed of the production. At level 5 it can be altered.

"System does the alteration tab refer to skills which have been altered?"

'QUERY: the [Alterations:] section of status refers to skills that fuse with mutations or skills that passively change the physiology of the user.'

"Makes sense… so alterations ARE skills but skills aren't necessarily alterations…" Now that Kai had a rundown of how the system works, he decided to focus on his only skill.

The repetition of photosynthesizing wasn't bothersome, it was instead blissful. Feeling the warmth of the sun, and cool water was a time sink. But, once he reached Photosynthesis [lvl 4] he took a break to actually take a look around him. What he had thought was a regular forest wasn't quite so normal. For example, there was a tree that was on fire. At first Kai thought that it just caught on fire, but it never went out. Nearby, there was a pond, which looked peaceful at first. That was, until a bird swooped down to find a fish, and the pond closed its mouth. The pond was a monster?!

This was when Kai decided that he wanted to leave this place.

"System, when can I go home? I don't want to be here anymore!"

'QUERY: Unfortunately, since you died, you cannot return to your original world since you are no longer a native of it, and the amount of power you'd need to have to get there would be way too much power for it to handle.'

(Well looks like I won't be going home.)

So, Kai decided to do his new favorite thing.

"System, what do the different opinions do?"

'QUERY: Efficient photosynthesis will start at the same percentage as photosynthesis did before, except each increase in level will increase speeds by 15% not 10%. Photosynthesis+ will let you collect more energy in the same amount of time, 10% more. Keep in mind the more you follow a '+' upgrade the better it will be. Experienced Photosynthesis will allow you to collect experience instead of energy, while doing the same thing.'

"Why would anyone not choose Experienced Photosynthesis, they would be dumb if they don't?"

'QUERY: There will always be a couple of bad options along with the good options with upgrading skills or evolving, as it's impossible to have it all good. Also, different alterations and evolutions have criteria to achieve them, so keep in mind what direction you want to go.'

"That makes sense, I will choose Experienced Photosynthesis."
