But the two other ladies?
They looked different but not easy… it would be hard but not as hard as the two First Ladies.
He cleared his throat and that same moment a laugh surfaced.
He paused and paled.
It was the lady on peach color. She laughed at him.
It was going to harder then..
He swallowed and walked closer, greeted.
"Alpha. Alexandre." He bowed.
They ignored him.
He swallowed again and looked at the human girls.
"I saw you pretty ladies from the other side of the hall." He started. "Would you spare me a dance?"
Alex raised her hand to her lips, holding in a laugh while Ciara smirked while looking at Alex.
"I would have said yes immediately you finished but I realized you are asking no one in particular. Young sir, do you have extra arms maybe?" Anna answered when the three ladies remained mute.
The young man cheeks flushed. "I apologize for the misunderstanding miss. I was actually talking to you." He gave his best smile.
Bella scoffed at his wrly attempt of a lie. His eyes were on her when he spoke.
Confused bastard, he couldn't man up.
"Oh!" Anna smiled at him, the smile jig reaching her eyes because she knew he hadn't spared her two glances while he spoke. She looked at Bella who shrugged.
"Alright.." she drawled with a soft smile.
The man smiled back at her, his dimples showing making him look cute. He offered his hand and when she accepted it, Ciara spoke.
"She's not a normal human."
The other three didn't know if it was a joke or if she was trying to be funny.
"I didn't think like that, Alpha." He man replied not understanding the meaning behind the words.
"Are you saying I'm speaking out of terms?" Ciara straight brow arched at the man.
He swallowed.
Alex smiled. She knew this trick. She gave Anna a wink and then slowly Bella smiled too, she understood.
"No-No Alpha. I would never."
"What's your name,boy?" Bella asked.
Alex looked away from them, laughing slightly.
The man's eyes reached Bella's cold ones, he was so sure the girls were humans…but now, they gave strange vibes.
"Mooner." He replied.
Bella nodded as if his name was interesting, she picked a glass of wine from the table behind her, taking a gentle sip.
"This could be your blood by the end of the party-if anything like a scratch appears on my baby's body."
Anna threw a surprised smile at Bella.
"Baby?" Mooner thought softly as he stared at the two. They didn't resemble in any way…. Were they vampires?!
He had heard that vampires looked pretty and young even though they lived long..
"I won't, Ma'am."
Bella nodded and sipped her wine again, eyes trained on him to make a point.
"Mooner huh," Alex voice said and stopped him when he was about to turn away with Anna.
Mooner eyes lowered when Alex smiled,
"Be a good boy and be a pretty love to Anna would you?"
"Of course" Mooner nodded as if disregarding Alex words were taboo.
"Go on ahead, the dance has started." She dismissed him while he bowed and left with a smiling Anna.
"Who's the guy?" Bella asked when Anna and Mooner were out of earshot.
"Mooner Kajv Turr." Alex answered while taking a drink from the table behind them.
"Doesn't look as fierce as his surnames."
Ciara laughed.
"I'm sure you had fun making him stutter like a fool." She remarked.
Bella sighed lazily and smiled, "Anna and I had always taken turns to pretend to be that crazy overprotective friend…" She paused and looked at Alex who smiled softly with a nod.
"Till I came." Alex finished for her.
Bella nodded and looked back at the dance floor where Anna danced with the young man.
"I will forever remember the day you came into our lives, Alex."
Ciara looked at Bella. She swallowed silently.
Did she hear right?
Bella was actually thanking Alex.
Christabelle Woodluck Gwenieve sincerely appreciating someone without a hint of sarcasm.
"Christabelle?" Ciara called. Hiding her surprise and putting on her aloof look.
Bella's eyes widened as she turned to Ciara.
"About how I welcomed you and your friend into my home. I hope you understand how I felt," She paused.
"But seeing your relationship with my best friend I've decided to adjust myself for you two." She smiled softly and Bella smiled with her.
Alex groaned loud and laughed. "Ciara is actually saying is that she's glad to be friends with you guys."
"I know." Bella laughed.
Ciara scoffed at them both.
"No. I'm only saying…it's nice to have humans here and there."
They all laughed this time.
"A better lie could suffice next time, Alpha." Bella joked before adding.
"I am glad you've accepted us, Ciara Rainsworth. Although I know you were really livid about our cherry Anna."
Ciara laughed whilst shaking her head.
"Anna is just fine, Bella. Thanks, but I already like her sharp tongue and innocent face."
"Right before I forget..please call me Bella. Christabelle was my grandmothers' and it's really weird hearing it full and directed to me." Bella said.
Ciara nodded while the girls talked on and off about different things that made them laugh and discuss like old time friends.
Ciara soon realized, Bella was never a snub in college. She just didn't know how to approach her.
She also realized….Bella wasn't so bad after all.
"Where's Zayn?" Alex turned to Ciara after dropping her empty glass on a maids tray.
Ciara sighed silently, "I'll explain later."
Alex noticed her friends rigid voice, she knew then, something really bad happened when she hadn't arrived.
"Damn girl. Loosen the shit up, crankiness cannot be tolerated..no..at least not now."
"Yeah. I know." Ciara mumbled as Alex hands squeezed hers softly.
The three ladies watched the party and continued to discuss different non-important things. Besides, there was nothing to do.
After a long while, the musical crew changed the tempo. A soft classical music echoed in the hall making the dancers and onlookers gaze around in confusion. No one knew there was another event in the party.
Ciara and Alex gave each other quizzical looks before a voice came.
"Your highness."
Ciara turned slightly to her shadow guard.
Her shadow guard was always secretly there to protect her in times when Zayn was absent.
"I wasn't aware of another event.."
He bowed. "Alpha Leonardo requested for a dance."
Ciara frowned.
"Isn't he supposed to ask before this nonsense stunt?"
Alex smiled at her friend. "Well. Leonardo ids full of surprises."
"Can't I reject it?" She asked no one in particular.
She knew. She couldn't just embarrass the idiot although she wished she could.
The bastard!
"He isn't that bad." Alex said referring to Leonardo who already stood in the middle of the dance floor.
Ciara cursed in her mind before walking to him.
Her cream colored dress swept the floor as people's eyes followed her steps to Leonardo.
She was ready a sight to behold.
She breathed out when she reached him, the spotlight on them both.
He smiled at her, his hand outstretched for hers.
"I will soon believe you are stalking me, to my face."
Leo laughed, his hair dancing as he did so.
"I will soon believe you like every attention I give, your grace."
Ciara's eyes narrowed at him.
Something was definitely wrong with her.
To think he was charming or her type was to prove that something had gone wrong.
His voice was he drawled on 'your grace', she had almost closed her eyes to imagine him saying more things with that specific tune.
She cleared her throat focusing on the outstretched hand in her face.
She gave a very long pause before dropping her hand in his.
"May I have this dance?"
Ciara wanted to punch his his stupid handsome face. He already dragged her here and he's asking her that now?!
"Alpha Fredrick." She stated slowly.
"I believe I already stand on the dance floor with my hand in yours of course."
"I'm just being a gentleman, your grace."
Ciara scoffed.
Gentleman my ass!
There was no need for his nonsense words or promises or his sultry voice, she already hated him.
For making her doubt her feelings for Zayn and for coming between her and Zayn.. he was an enemy.
No mater what.
He slowly pulled her closer, his sturdy arms encircling her and placing his hand on her waist.
Ciara complied and placed her hand on his shoulder while the other stayed in his other hand.
Their steps started off gently, moving side to side while following the rhythm of the slow music.
Ciara almost groaned.
She should've refused.
Made an excuse.
Her legs were hurting!
And the idiot still smiled at her.
Infuriating bastard!
And all the while, she tried but failed.
Not to look into those blue orbs.
She could feel it… it was all a trap. It was screaming danger in her head but she couldn't turn it off.
She couldn't turn off the sudden attraction she felt did this bastard.
Meanwhile..
Another spotlight in the hall finally recognized the man who had stayed silently in the dark watching the party.
He released a silent breath knowing it was about time people started to notice him.
He had never failed to drag attention to himself no matter how quiet or invisible he was.
