Animal attacks

Rachel's pov

Victor walked me all the way to work and even kissed my hand. It made me feel like a schoolgirl. I had a major crush.

" Who the hell was that?!" I winced as I heard Jamie and man did he sound angry.

" Is that why you're late? and Starbucks really rea? Did you call your mom? you have literally been mia all night and most of today" Jamie my most best bestie whisper yelled at me.

"okay I know this is bad but did you see him? he was soooooo hot"

I squealed, causing the cashier to shoot me a death stare.

Jamie rolled his eyes "look I get what you're saying it's just you're lucky he didn't try anything, I know I wouldn't want to wake up next to someone who I hardly know."

I snorted "he is pretty hot though"

Jamie let out an exasperated sigh "you know I hate when you flirt with strangers" he scolded me which only made me laugh harder nobody ever even looks my way.

The shop had been open since 8 and it was now 1:30. I felt horrible that my clients had been waiting for so long. I had 3 this morning and all of them were booked for at least 4 hours a piece.

I ran to my studio and started to sanitize everything and set up the ink for my first tattoo. I read the piece of paper and walked out to the waiting room to collect them.

"Annika Smith!" I shouted

" She never showed rea" Jamie yelled across the shop. great I love no shows but hey at least she pre paid but now I had to dump the ink boo.

hours went by. I had 2 walk-ins plus my two regulars. My hand was on fire.

" hey rae? can you sweep since I had to open for you?" Jamie teased.

I glared at him and started to clean up while he continued to watch TV on the sofa in the back room.

I finished up all sweeping and cleaned the resection while Jamie continued to watch whatever it was he was watching, it was the news he had to watch his news before he headed home for the night because we broke his TV a few months back .

"hey rae" he suddenly said, I looked up at him confused "what?" I watched him turn up the TV's volume.

" Breaking New! At six thirty this morning the body of one Annika Smith was found in an alleyway beside a local stop and shop, the young woman was only 22 years of age, it seems as if it was a vicious animal attack,an autopsy will be performed later tomorrow. Back to you Eric."

I couldn't help but gasp that was my missing client poor girl.

"Damn rae no wonder she never showed" Jamie exclaimed " I guess that means some animal is out there attacking people" I nodded in agreement.now I was pretty scared to walk home, " Hey Jamie would you walk me home?" I pleaded giving him my best puppy dog eyes. He let out a sigh " I hate you" he groaned "No you don't" I smiled.

We made our way out of the studio and I locked the doors behind us.

The night air was crisp and cool and the sky was clear. I wrapped my arms around my torso feeling shivers course through my body. I stopped abruptly causing Jamie to crash into me " Shit I forgot to call mom" I exclaimed panicked.

I quickly dialed her phone and waited anxiously for her to pick up. I heard the ring once before she picked up. "Hello sweetheart are you alright?" she asked, concerned. " Yeah I'm okay I'm with a friend" I replied "who?" she asked suspiciously.

"Just Jamie mom" I replied trying to act casual. she hummed "Oh okay love you" she said and hung up. I breathed a sigh of relief and gave Jamie a thankful smile. He gave me a nod and we continued our walk home. We talked about nothing and everything for a little while till we reached the apartment building.

" Hey, do you wanna come in? I've got a frozen pizza I can throw in the oven" I asked him hopefully.

" No, I've got to get back to my place" he replied " oh ok thanks again for walking me home I wish you could stay I mean I just got the new Jurassic world" I told him, giving him a sly smile.

" Blackmail how dare you, now you know I can't refuse dinosaur movies " Jamie exclaimed excitedly running past me up my steps and using his key to open the door.

" A lady never opens a door for herself in man's presence" he giggled,

"Oh how gentlemanly of you" I mocked

After we got comfy on the couch I got up and put the food in the oven.

The rest of the night was pretty normal. We ate pizza and watched the movie and passed out on the couch next to each other like we normally do.
