None is perfect

"Are you really condoning this?" Adler asked her sternly. 

Scarlet stared back at him boldly, ready to stand her ground. It was not right for them to overly assert themselves in the midst of their parents relationship. 

Their mother's side of the family did not associate with her much. Their father's side was filled with greedy relatives who cared more about money than family relationships. If she had to guess, both of them had probably grown up lonely.

Maybe their parents were trying to create a big close knit family to fill in some kind of void. 

"Coral, take the children away." Scarlet said sternly to the maid. 

It was not just Coral who stepped forward, her mother's maid Julissa too came and took Illa from Scarlet.

Alone, with only her mature siblings, Scarlet had no plan to hold back on sharing what it was that she truly felt.
