Rooting them out.

Immediately after leaving the dead world, Scarlet and the hounds set off for the underworld in search of a single deity. Over time, Lythia had cemented her position as Scarlet's go to deity every time she needed answers, a favor or help.

The hounds went off to take care of their own business, leaving her alone with absolute privacy in Lythia's palace which she used to walk around. The place was now deserted, no reapers and no monkeys. The life which once filled it was absent. It was such a sad sight to see.

"Are the spirit monkeys preparing for war as well?" she asked herself. What could these cheeky cute animals possibly do in a war between deities?

She didn't know what role they would play but she was sure that they had one. If even the trees and rivers did, then the spirit animals were no exception. For some reason, she felt guilty and sorry towards them, as if the war was her fault.
