Decision of the council

The others looked at Apo like prey as he took the first steps down, heading towards the babies and Scarlet. Their hot gazes burned into his back as they looked forward to the interaction between Scarlet, Apheitos and those weird flames.

It was like they all shared this premonition that the moment he touched them, something would happen.

Suddenly, Apo came to as stop. He was not a fool that would so eagerly run into a fire blindly. He had made a few observations as he went down. One, the deities of the underworld were a little too excited about his trip down to look at the babies.

Two, fate had been clamoring about claiming one of the children and yet she was abnormally silent right now. And lastly was Scarlet herself and her husband. They were confident, too confident that it bothered him.

The gleam in Scarlet's eye was a little too happy, denoting the knowledge of a secret. Apo did not like secrets, not ones that he wasn't aware of.
