Su Chen finally managed to break away from the Yang sisters. If he continued to stay with them, he would be completely drained. They were just too clingy. Both sisters were drawn to him, which was quite the unusual situation! But people often fail to cherish what they have. Standing at his doorstep, Su Chen suddenly felt that maybe the Yang sisters weren't too bad after all, at least compared to the three at home.
Upon entering, he was greeted by Chen Yuxin, which surprised him. Where had his little maid, Zhao Menghan, gone? Had she fallen asleep? "Young Master, you're finally back. I've been waiting for a long time," Chen Yuxin said with her seductive voice, causing a slight shiver in Su Chen. What was she up to now? Was she playing the role of Zhao Menghan?
Su Chen sat on the sofa, and Chen Yuxin began massaging his shoulders and legs, completely in the manner of a maid. "Zhao Menghan fell asleep, so she asked me to handle her duties tonight," Chen Yuxin said with a faint smile, noting Su Chen's puzzled yet anticipatory gaze. "I owed her a favor," she added quickly, answering the question he was about to ask. Was this a perk of being the male lead? Were they ensuring he enjoyed all the benefits to the very end?
Despite the situation, Su Chen's suspicions about Chen Yuxin hadn't subsided. She had been too quiet lately, unlike her character in the original story, which made him curious. "Are you hiding some sort of plan from me?" Su Chen asked directly. Chen Yuxin's face changed immediately, "How could I? What sort of plan could I possibly have?" She vehemently denied, but Su Chen felt he'd touched a nerve.
By now, he wasn't the same naive individual he was when he first reincarnated. Clearly, Chen Yuxin's plan wasn't targeting him but probably Qin Yu, the naive main character. Su Chen was indeed worried, especially in his current role. The events now could alter the course of the narrative. If something happened to Qin Yu, the main character role might change, making things even harder for Su Chen to control. That darned antagonist card might sound impressive, but in reality, it's nothing but a trap.
Just as Su Chen was deep in thought, he suddenly felt his hand being placed somewhere warm. However, not the entire hand, only a few fingers were inside. He looked down in surprise, only to find that Chen Yuxin had slipped his hand into her pocket. Damn, he'd overthought things. Su Chen coughed awkwardly and asked, "What are you doing?"
With righteous conviction, Chen Yuxin responded, "Obviously, doing what a maid should, like warming your hands when they're cold, for instance." Her seductive hint was clear, even though she didn't finish her sentence. Su Chen tried to deceive himself, wondering, what was she getting at? Why did she stop mid-sentence? He had to admit that a tiny spark of interest was ignited in his heart.
However, he quickly regained his composure and with a stern expression reprimanded, "What you're doing is not right. How can a pocket provide warmth? You need to understand, a maid is supposed to be even closer than a secretary." His words sounded noble and just, especially with his serious demeanor, making him seem somewhat convincing. Chen Yuxin paused, either reflecting on his words or conceiving some playful idea, as the smirk on her lips betrayed her thoughts. Moreover, her eyes were shining brilliantly. Then, she uttered a phrase that caught Su Chen off guard, "This is my first time as a maid, so it's natural I don't know everything. Why don't you teach [train] me personally, master?" Correcting herself, she said the word 'train' instead of 'teach', leaving Su Chen bewildered.
Was this the same Chen Yuxin everyone feared? It felt so odd hearing such words from her. Chen Yuxin immediately got into character, asking with a blink of her innocent eyes, "Master, what would you like to teach me?" The provocative act left Su Chen feeling a chill, but he soon reached out and gently touched her head.
"Since you want to learn, I'll teach you personally," he remarked. Chen Yuxin nodded obediently, looking like an eager student, "Please begin, master." Oddly enough, Su Chen felt a thrill from Chen Yuxin's role-playing. It was unmistakably Chen Yuxin, always unique in everything she did.
"Great, next we're going to play an intriguing game," Su Chen said, placing his hand on the collar of her dress. Chen Yuxin closed her eyes, anticipating something delightful.
Meanwhile...
A significant figure arrived at the police department. At this moment, Qin Yu's hands were shackled, but there was no panic or fear evident on his face. In front of him were two officers responsible for recording his statement. Yet, Qin Yu's attention wasn't on the officers. Instead, he called out to the adjacent room, "I know you all are watching from next door, but I don't wish to answer any questions.
However, if Officer Yang Yuxin personally inquires, perhaps I might cooperate." Confidence was evident on Qin Yu's face. He clearly held no regard for the officers present. Still, internally, he was a bit surprised, not expecting the police to act so swiftly.
The interrogating officer, taken aback by Qin Yu's audacity, regained his stern demeanor and reprimanded, "Do you think you can dictate the terms here and meet whoever you wish?" Qin Yu remained unfazed. Just then, the interrogation room's door opened, signaling someone's entry.
Without even lifting his head, Qin Yu confidently said, "Yang Yuxin, I knew you were watching. Why are you so concerned about me?" But when he did raise his gaze, he was completely stunned. The person entering was not the stunning beauty he had envisioned but a burly, older police officer, causing a wave of irritation in Qin Yu. "I said, unless Yang Yuxin is here, I won't speak."
The elderly officer held a file in his hand and addressed him, "Qin Yu! Unfortunately, you're mistaken. Yang Yuxin isn't here. The latest news we received is that she and her sister, Yang Danxuan, were dining with Su Chen. All three left together in a car."
The officer presented a recently obtained photograph to Qin Yu. It captured Su Chen, Yang Danxuan, and Yang Yuxin entering a diner. Qin Yu's face turned ashen. "Why is it this way? That damned Su Chen again."
Spotting Qin Yu's emotional upheaval, the older officer saw an opportunity to press him further. "Qin Yu, did you orchestrate the Black Dragon Gang incident? Thirteen lives lost, how could you be so cruel?" Qin Yu, with an air of audacity, retorted, "Officer, you can't make baseless accusations. I'm a law-abiding citizen. How could I commit such a crime? Besides, motives are essential for murder."
The officer probed deeper, "The Black Dragon Gang was responsible for the death of your parents. Naturally, you had a reason for revenge. Am I wrong, former young master of the Qin family? You might have fled back then, but facts remain unchanged."
Hearing this, Qin Yu's face visibly darkened. If it weren't for the police department's confines, he might have turned violent. Qin Yu sneered, "Officer, are you joking?"
"If there's nothing else, I expect to be released soon," remarked Qin Yu. The elder officer was feeling the pressure. To his surprise, Qin Yu didn't show any weaknesses. Whether based on years of investigative intuition or understanding of Qin Yu's brutal nature, the officer believed Qin Yu was the culprit behind the crimes. However, there was no solid evidence. The suspect wasn't an ordinary person; he left no traces behind. Without evidence, Qin Yu would be free in no time, which is why he was so fearless now.
Of course, Qin Yu wouldn't leave any evidence behind. Be it eyewitnesses, video surveillance, or fingerprints, everything was perfectly concealed. The hacker known as "Number Three" was the world's most powerful. Resolving these issues was too easy for him, so there was no chance he'd leave any evidence behind. Another reason for Qin Yu's visit to the police department was to show Wang Bingbing his strength, believing this would help him win her over eventually. A crooked smile, characteristic of a war god, appeared on Qin Yu's lips.
The elder officer, despite his extensive experience, had never encountered such a difficult opponent like Qin Yu. He felt overwhelmed but wasn't ready to give up. As long as time permitted, he believed there was a chance to bring Qin Yu to justice. Just as he was lamenting, suddenly, there was good news from outside the room. "Captain, we've found crucial evidence!" An enthusiastic young officer with glasses walked in, beaming. The elder officer, clearly excited, demanded, "What evidence? Speak!"
Qin Yu scoffed, "What tricks do you have up your sleeve now?" He firmly believed these minor officers couldn't possibly find any tangible evidence. However, his expression changed instantly when a video began playing. The footage was gruesome, with blood everywhere. The Black Dragon Gang members were being brutally tortured by Qin Yu, each killed in an extremely cruel manner.
"Qin Yu, you bastard! You will pay for this!" The elder officer, unable to contain his rage, grabbed Qin Yu by the collar and yelled. If not for the police uniform he wore, he would've attacked then and there.
Qin Yu was equally baffled and felt this was impossible. The surveillance couldn't have malfunctioned. After all, it was the world's most formidable hacker who personally destroyed it. Unless "Number Three" betrayed him. But that seemed even more implausible, considering she was overseas and couldn't possibly be aware of the domestic affairs.
