Chapter Twenty One: Battle Shrine.

Princess Jasmine arrived at the Battle Shrine with her slave girl, Mary, beside her. Mary also had a veil draped over her face to conceal her identity.

The Battle Shrine was bustling as usual, with people from the kingdom gathered to bet and witness intense fights to the end. Entry to the shrine was not free; it cost 10 gold coins. Thankfully, Mary had brought her money pouch for Jasmine, who had forgotten to bring it along.

Mary paid the guard, a bulky man stationed at the entrance. For a moment, his curious gaze fixed on them, trying to figure out their identity.

"Maybe they were some of the nobles' wives," he mumbled to himself. In fact, some noblewomen often sneaked in here to watch the fights and even bet on the slaves. It was heavily frowned upon for women to be present here; it was considered indecent.
