Chapter 16 Aren't You a Billionaire Now?_1

Yan Zao's neck almost got twisted off as she forcefully pushed the person away, "Are you trying to strangle me? Hurry up and get in the car and drive, I'm sweating buckets from my menstrual pain."

The two had lived together under the same roof for three years abroad, so Dai Xinmeng naturally knew about Yan Zao's period, but she had been so happy she forgot about it until she saw Yan Zao sweating profusely, "I forgot about your period. If I had remembered, I wouldn't have let you come pick me up."

She stuffed the suitcase into the car as quickly as possible and started the vehicle.

Since their work abroad was related to radio, Dai Xinmeng switched on the radio as soon as she got in the car.

It just so happened that a sports channel was on, with the presenter broadcasting about some recent international basketball events. Yan Zao listened and turned to ask Dai Xinmeng, "Don't I have any work offers?"

Dai Xinmeng frowned, "Do you still need work offers now?"

Yan Zao also frowned, "Why wouldn't I?"

"Haven't you become a billionaire?"

With an amused glance at Yan Zao, Dai Xinmeng turned her attention back to driving seriously.

Her tone carried a hint of teasing.

Yan Zao rolled her eyes at her, "Even the richest person in the world is still working hard, so should I just sit at home and wait to die because I'm merely a billionaire?"

Dai Xinmeng stopped teasing her and got serious, "There are quite a few work offers, actually. The European Aristocrat Club has several live matches next month, and the organizers have sent an invitation for you to be the play-by-play commentator alongside Luke..."

The moment Yan Zao heard the word 'European', she had already rejected the job offer in her heart. She interrupted Dai Xinmeng, "Aren't there any domestic offers?"

"What could there be domestically..."

Dai Xinmeng, cut off midway as something occurred to her, "Actually, there's a street basketball talent show that invited you to be a judge. The invite came two months ago, it requires showing your face, I declined it."

A judge? Having worked as a basketball commentator for almost three years, the job offers she received were either for live selling or match commentary—this was the first time she was invited to be a judge. Yan Zao found it somewhat amusing, "Can just anyone be a judge?"

There was a slight underestimation in her tone. Dai Xinmeng looked at her earnestly, "Miss Yan Zao, please take some time to properly research your current worth. You're not that rookie who considered earning five hundred U.S. dollars for a live broadcast a lot of money anymore. You're a star commentator in the basketball world."

By the end of Dai Xinmeng's speech, there was a mix of sentiment and sighs.

Only they knew the trials and tribulations they had gone through to get to where they were today over these three years.

Yan Zao casually responded with an 'Oh'.

Then she asked, "Is the pay good?"

Dai Xinmeng said, "They're offering 1.5 million—not a lot, but for a domestic program like this, it's not little either."

After saying this, she looked at Yan Zao in surprise, "Zaozao, are you interested in this?"

Yan Zao replied, "Let's do it, wearing a mask."

Considering that Yan Zao's fame was entirely dependent on her verbal skill, she had worn a mask and used a voice changer from day one of broadcasting, keeping her voice and appearance a mystery.

If she were to reveal her face in public now, there would be more to consider than just showing her face, including her voice. Dai Xinmeng asked uncertainly, "Still using the voice changer?"

Yan Zao raised an eyebrow, "What, is that not okay?"

That was her plan.

Dai Xinmeng's mouth twitched silently, serving as a judge with a voice changer was something she had neither heard of nor seen before. She wasn't sure if the organizers would agree, "I'll communicate with them and see."
