Floating kingdom of dreams

Running barefooted a young boy in his teenage years and two twin girls with the same white hair tied on the ribbon in the same fashion. Looking at their face it was almost impossible to know who was who.

"Big brother!!"

"Wait! Big brother!"

"Hurry up Yaya… Nana… Run! We can finally see it with our own eyes. The wonderful place we see in our dreams!"

They run as fast as they can with big grins on their face. Expression filled with excitement and happiness. The young boy stopped and they all lifted their heads their eyes fixed on the castle above the sky.

"The castle that floats in the sky… The flying city of heaven!!"

The boy opened his eyes in surprise. The feeling of excitement was still on his body but left disappointed after finding out that everything he saw was nothing but a dream.

"I saw in my dreams… The floating castle… Wait what…"

Turning his glance to the bed next to him the twin sister Nana and Yaya were soundly asleep.

Everything is nothing but a dream huh?

An hour later he woke up. The dream he saw still lingers in his mind. He kept on thinking about the floating castle to the point that it was very uncomfortable for him. While he sat down on the thick moss, his eyes were fixated on the clouds waiting. Perhaps, hoping that what he saw in his dream was true.

"Hey, Noah. Don't just stare at the sky, help us harvest the crops."

"Hey, Grampa… I wonder if the flying city actually existed."

"You mean the one that you saw in your storybooks? Nana and Yaya asked something yesterday. So you've probably dreamed about it."

"Hmm, well maybe that was true… But sometimes. There are just those times. When I can't help but feel that there is something in the sky, even though I can't see it. Besides there are people from the faraway town saying that they saw an actual flying castle."

"Rumors should only reach the town nearby… If it reached this far it's definitely a lie… Man, you're just lazing around. You just don't feel like doing anything. Go for a run and check the trap in the forest. These girls are in their growth period we gotta let them eat meat every so often."

The grandfather said. The two girls beside him cheered.

"I'm not lazing around… I already harvest quite a lot… Yeah, okay I'm going to check the traps… Oh yeah, can I use those things?"

"Just don't let other people see you using it."

"Okay."

Noah immediately makes his way to the forest beside the mountain nearby. He checks every trap they put around their house. The traps are not just for food hunting but also serve as protection from monsters lurking around.

"The seventh one is no good too. There is no luck for today."

*Snap!*

"That sound… The eighth one has a catch. I wonder what it was."

He dashed immediately to the location of the eight trap. Instead of being happy that he got a catch. He looks at the bear trap with skepticism. For this reason, he saw a human leg. He walked slowly close to the trap.

After further, examination, he noticed that there was no sign of blood or flesh.

"A boots… No, wait… Why is this here? Are boots made of steel? This is absurd, but it's so damn heavy."

"Hey."

Someone called Noah.

Turning his head up, he saw a girl with white hair that reached her shoulder. Her body was so slender, you'd wonder where the food she was eating was going, but her body was something that suited her looks. She was slender but not too thin. The girl was high above the tree sitting on the branch.

"Could you give it back?"

She said.

The young boy was stunned for the moment.

This was the first time he saw a girl that was her age. On top of that, the girl was a total beauty.

After seconds of admiration for the young beautiful girl.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?"

He asked.

The girl stretches her hands to Noah.

"Get me down… Give me your hand."

She acting so high and mighty, but she looks desperate. Well, whatever.

The moment Noah took the lady's hand a wild boar monster appeared standing next to them. "!" Both were caught by surprise.

"There he is the King Boar!!"

"What is that pig?"

"The king boar! The so-called king of the forest."

The lady was frightened by the boar approaching next to them. It was about 7 feet tall and giant body. In addition, it has its eyes burning red.

"Okay, now is the worst-case scenario… Today we'll have a boar stew!!"

Noah prepared for battle.

"Hey, wait!"

The girl warned him with worry

"Don't worry… There are times a man can't withdraw back." The ground started to crack because of the weight of the king's boar. "Crap, the ground is breaking… I almost forgot… We… We're on the edge of the cliff."

"Waaaaaaaaaaahhh!!"

Falling down, the girl immediately took off her other metallic boots and grabbed Noah's arm.

The land fell down and buried the boar alive. Meanwhile, Noah and the white girl landed gently in peace.

"What the heck?"

"H-Hey! Don't let me go… Don't let me go!"

The white girl floats up in the air like a balloon. Steadily going up, before she becomes unreachable. Noah leaped up and took her hands down.

"I will be clinging onto the tree for a while. So could you help me look for the boots a while ago?"

"Why me?"

"Stop complaining… I just saved you're life just now."

Noah had nothing to say to the girl following her orders. He searches around the place where the king of the forest was buried. If he digs deep enough he'll recover the king of the forest and bring it back to his home. The king boar meat will last for two weeks. That is what he plans while he searches for the metallic boots.

"Oh, there they are… In any case, these boots are pretty heavy. How much do they weigh?"

"Those two together are about my weight."

"Each about 35 kilograms."

"Want me to slap you in your face right now? Please bring me my boots."

She wears her metallic boots back and stands normally on the ground. The confused look at the boy made her uncomfortable so she gave him some sort of explanation.

"I have an angel sickness."

"Angel sickness…"

"Only the chaste, super cute maidens get this sickness. It's a unique sickness that makes me fly in the sky."

She explained but the boy wasn't making any reaction to her words. More likely he has his suspicion toward the girl.

"It seems like you don't believe me. Am I right?"

"I mean you're super cute, but I've never ever heard of the sickness before."

"That's because you lack the intelligence and you have no idea how the world works… You midget boy."

"I understand, Well, I'm quite ignorant especially outside but our age is not that different right?"

"Just how old are you?"

"I'm Noah I'm 16 this year."

"Now lo and behold… My name is Lumine I'm going to be 17 this year and I'm always been older than you. In this world, the year difference is absolute. Please pay me some respect."

While introducing themselves to one another. Lumine was triggered one what she saw behind Noah.

In a panic, she grabs Noah's head and forcefully pushes him down.

"My face!"

"Keep quiet… They'll notice you."

"Who the heck will notice?"

"Pursuers."

Noah took a peek and saw men wearing mech-like armor.

"Kingdom's armored force alias: Mechaknights. They look heavy but they can chase their target down in superhuman speed."

"So cool they are robots… Just like I saw in books."

One of the groups of twelve Mechknight noticed their presence with their radar.

"Life form detected… She's there!"

"They found us! Wait, what happened when they captured us?"

"If they do We'll get a very bad scolding."

Lumine replied.

"Only scolding?"

"N… No… They'll tear you apart. Arms, legs, head, and so on for that reason we should be going away."

Before the two were able to run away. The twelve Mechknights immediately encircled the two leaving no direction for escape.

"Like you said they are sure fast… Shit, Now, I have no more choice… Grab onto me tight, Lumine. Sorry old man… This is for our safety."

Noah stomped the ground carrying Lumine like a princess. His body got basted up in the sky at max speed. Lumine was shocked and tears came falling from her eyes at the sudden turn of events.

"What?!"

Afterward, Noah brings Lumine into a far distance and hides deep in the forest.

"We should be fine now that we're this far. Whoa sorry! I just fly at maximum speed."

Noah said to Lumine who was lying face down on the ground. She rolled sideways and looked at Noah's boots.

"What is with those boots?"

"My old man said that I should not tell this to anyone."

"Something is suspicious here. Are you a scoundrel? Are you planning to kidnap me and carry a high act of treason?"

"What was that? Not at all! It's an old story. When an old man got discharged from the military. He took some military tools away. I don't know what the details are myself, but these are special things created during the cosmic war whatsoever. This item makes it easier for me to use my gravitational powers."

"Gravitational powers? What are you even saying?"

"Well, that's super classified from the cosmic war…. About earlier, I don't know why but if you getting chased you can come along with me at home. Right now, we can't fly there because the people from before will find us. It was 10 kilometers from here..."

"Do people say how selfish you are? Well, whatever… Anyways I'm worried about home. So I'll fly a little bit."

While the tow was on their way back home.

"Hey, you know about the floating castle?"

"Where did that come from…"

"I've never seen clothes as you have before. I thought you came from a different country. I've lived in these mountains for almost all my life. So I'm interested in what's beyond the world. I want to know everything the outside world has to offer… To be honest, I believe the flying castle existed somewhere in the world. Which is why I always, always gazed a the sky."

Back in Noah's home. Noah's grandfather was surrounded by the same mechanical soldier's pursuers of Lumine.

"What do you want from me?"

"We are looking for a girl and a boy who helped her escape. Do you know anything about them? If you answer honestly, we won't be doing anything harmful."

Hiding in the bush, Noah and Lumine worried.

"This is twice the pursuer earlier. This is a lot for chasing one girl. What the heck did you do? Are some kind of high bounty criminal?"

"You're acting quite rude… As per usual."

She makes a big sigh thinking that there is no way she'll get out of the situation without explaining everything to the boy who is helping her.

'Well, fine, I guess I really can't get anyone else involved in this… My name is Lumine Angelica Elysium. I'ma princess from Elysium kingdom."

"A princess… I'm sorry but I never knew that such a kingdom existed Where is that?"

"You don't have to know about it. Actually, it was a name people should never know."

Lumine muttered and then stepped away from hiding. Bravely presenting herself to the army.

"There she is the princess is here! The princess is here!"

"It was a short time, but I'm glad that I came into contact with this land and you."

"What?! I have no idea what you're talking about. A name we should never know. What does that even mean?!"

"I have a fiance… A royalty from another country and whom I never met before."

"I half a year when I turned 18. They'll hold a marriage ceremony. Then, I was separated from my country and lived in a mansion that's like an elegant castle, and after that, I believe I began living a life where I can't ever set foot outside. Which is why I really wanted to see these sights before that happened… The twelve different kinds of species aside from humans. The grand towering mountains. The vast seven seas, abyssal forest no man can approach. Great rivers, so furious they can wash away an island. The burning mountain stays as hearsay. The seven-colored sand dunes. Lastly, the tallest waterfall that ascends from heaven. None of this can be found in my country… My country has nothing but steel and machines. It is a wretched city-state."

"Princess please, don't take your games too far."

Lumine slowly approached the man in metal armor.

At that point, Noah recalled his past, the time before he met his grandfather.

What is wrong kid? Why are you crying?

Everyone is gone… All of them are gone.

Come kid… I'll be your family from now on.

"Lumine!! The first half aside, I believe that the last half is all lies that can only be seen in children's story books. Thinking about it, I kept on looking at the sky and I knew nothing outside beyond this mountain surrounding us… Which is why… What do I want to say? I want to beat this guy down."

Noah said and put a black glove on his hands.

"Eh?"

"What is he even saying? I don't understand."

"He's the boy that saved Princess earlier… I'll put him through a little bit of pain."

Three knights approached Noah and swung the heavy metallic fist of the mech.

"Stop it! It was not s fault."

"Stop, Noah! I never said you can carry the grove!"

Each attack was dodged by Noah swiftly. The knight equipped with a mechanical body gaining superhuman speed wasn't even making a hit. Leaving the pilot frustrated and pulling a full-speed attack. Which Noah dodges by leaping upward.

While airborne all his enemies attack all of the time reassuring him that their fists will squash Noah.

Noah dodges at the last moment and counters with his fist.

"Gravity force: Super heavy fist!"

The metallic armor worn by knights is destroyed like paper scraps. Noah did the same to the mechknight near him.

"Impossible."

"Step aside… This leader machine has three times the strength and speed that the average troop… Take this little brat!!"

He throws a punch.

Without flinching Noah intercepted the metallic fist with his own.

"Super Heavy fist!!"

"H-he folded leader in one punch!!"

"Prioritized the princess we're forcing her back to the kingdom."

"There is no way I'll let that happen…"

Noah charges in full throttle and destroys each one of the mechanical knights with his own fist.

"What is with this brat? That gravity ability… Could it be he one of the Ancient heroes from cosmic war?"

Lumine was so shocked by the result of the battle. Noah single-handedly destroyed every pursuer she had like they were all nothing.

"He did it now… You stupid…"

"Noah what the heck are you…"

"I'm actually a human weapon created from cosmic war."

"A human weapon… Eh? What is this sound? The sky is getting dark too…"

"A while ago you said that you looked at the empty sky but that's wrong. Something was always there. You just could see it so now it will show itself."

Lumine muttered.

Noah has his eyes widen in surprise. The place his been dreaming of appeared right before his eyes.

"It's true!!!"

He yelled loudly.

"This is the floating city of heavens… Elysium kingdom."
