Nightmare Past

Back in cat paradise.

"Ummm… This delicacy is so tasty. Give my compliment to the cook!"

Lumine's unprincess-like manners float in front of many delicious foods served in front of her. She was incredibly anxious earlier and feared that she'd be subjected to some horrible treatment.

But to her surprise, Cat Paradise is spoiling her. The chamber in which she is locked is simply a normal room. Honestly, it's spacious compared to a normal room.

She has a bed, table, books to entertain herself, and the most important thing. Lumine has a very clean restroom in her room.

The empress knows that Lumine is a girl and he can't just bring Lumine into the dirty chamber with a dirty restroom. She knows the feeling.

"I wonder where is her food going?"

A cat girl whispered to another cat girl while staring at Lumine's perfectly slender body.

"Who knows?"

The way Lumine devoured the food was like a monster.

Meanwhile, the chubby cat in the background who was serving food for Lumine was crying tears of joy.

"I never knew that someone would eat my food like this. My passion for cooking reignited!"

"Chef Bob. Please stop serving her food. It's not in empress's order to spoil her."

"I'm not spoiling her. Think about it. If she has her body full. She cannot run away."

Chef Bob replied.

Probably, the stupidest thing the two catmaids guarding the chamber heard for this day.

The chef has a point. Someone with a heavy stomach can't possibly run.

The problem was that someone was Lumine. Lumine's stomach is simply a black hole at this point.

"I think that plan of yours is not going to work on her."

"Chef! Give me some more ribs and rice. I need lots of proteins."

Lumine shouted happily.

"Roger Princess!"

Chef Bob immediately goes to cooking.

"Not again!" 2x

"Stop calling her Princess!"

That is right, she is a princess. Why on earth we're treating her normally? I want to treat her like how they treated us before.

"Mia… I could hear you're thoughts. We should not treat others the way we don't want to be treated."

Noir the other cat maid guarding Lumine's chamber said.

"Stop using your ability to hear my thoughts."

Mia sulked down and turned her head away in annoyance.

"I mean, those royalties enslaved us. Our parents were taken away because of her kindness. They are humiliated and killed. It's because of this shitty royalty our tribe a not long time ago was suffering in a nightmare."

"But that nightmare is over and we Cat Paradise tribe are only fighting for the good and freedom of everyone. We should learn to treat everyone equally. That way we could reach understanding and peace."

"Gosh! You're so kind," Mia said and then turned toward Noir and pulled her cheeks.

"Hmm… I'm sensing great stories out here."

"Gah! Princess!"

Lumine pops her head at the cell bars startling the two. Lumine tilted her body and then got out of the cell easily.

"She's so thin!" Noir shouted.

"Yeah! She's breaking the prison!" Mia pulled the sword from her waist.

Lumine thinks that it's bad that she goes out. She look at the path on her left and right. She realized that there was no way for her to run away at that moment.

One reason is that she doesn't know entirely the map of the dungeon she's currently in.

Running around without knowing where to go is a huge risk. And if she is caught her luxurious chamber could be taken away from her. Something she will not like for sure.

I mean, she has a very clean restroom.

"I'm sorry… I'm getting inside again."

Lumine tilts her body and manages to get inside the chamber again.

"Hey, what is your diet!"

Noir asked.

"Seriously! That's what you're asking her?!" Mia protested in the background. "Anyways, thinking about it these cell bars are not narrow enough. First of all this chamber is not really a prison cell to begin with. It's a guest room in the palace. The cells were placed in a rush that's why the distancing of the cell bars wasn't aligned to one another… God, I was happy that I was guarding a fragile princess so that I could dook out everything I hated in royalties on you. But why can't we hurt you?!"

Mia sharply glared at Lumine.

Lumine waved a smile in reply.

"Our empress is not a monster who'll do horrifying things to criminals. Plus, she's an important hostage they said."

"Grrr… I'm still pissed off."

Lumine got the chair and sat down near the two cat girls. She displays no fear. The atmosphere was so open and light for some reason. Hostility and violence could not possibly happen.

This light feeling of Lumine radiating to her surroundings was an infection on its own.

"What do you want? Do you know that we can kill you?"

Mia said just to intimidate Lumine.

Lumine brushed off the intimidation and went straight to what she was curious about.

"I'm wondering why cat tribes hate royalties. What happened to Cat Paradise before?"

"Stop acting innocent! Your family enslaves us and does many horrible things to us. Not just to cats, but to all tribes."

"I'm being honest here. I don't really know what happened… If you have time could you please tell me stories?"

"We're not you're freaking storytellers!"

Mia slammed her fist at the cell bars. Lumine didn't stagger at all. She shows her determination to listen to what the two cats would tell.

What's with this girl she's creeping me out.

Noir placed her hand on Mia's shoulder and smiled at her to put her at ease.

"I read the princess's thoughts right now. Her feeling is genuine. She just wants to know about us."

"Why in the world does she want to know about us?"

"So that I can understand you. The first step to peace is understanding one another. As the princess of peace, I'll take this as my problem."

"Princess of peace?" Mia was dumbfounded.

However, Mia claps her hands in admiration. "Princess of peace sounds amazing!"

"Stop clapping for her Well, listen carefully. I'll tell you the things you royalty have done to our people."

Mia said and told her story.

Half an hour later.

Lumine was crying buckets after hearing Mia and Noir's story.

Mia was living a normal peaceful life in the south continent. Her cat tribe differs from any other cat tribe. Her tribe was faster and known as terrifying hunters of the wilderness. They are proud and peace-loving warriors.

Every day was fun and lively. Kids play until they are all exhausted, wives take care of the home, and men hunt food. In their belief, this kind of living is the ideal kind of living.

There is no greed or villainy toward one another.

They all see each other as equals and all of the cats in their tribe made an oath that they'll protect one another from anyone who tries to destroy their peace.

Not long after, a group of humans came to visit the tribe. They are royalties that ruled the mainland for centuries. A king's representative, the prince makes friends with them.

The cats were too kind. They treat the prince kindly like his no different from the cats.

They let the prince into their tribe. But unknown to them, the prince has a ridiculous plan of capturing every single one of the cats and turning them into slaves. Others turned into goods sold at high prices for the nobles.

the prince backstab the cats. Betraying the cats trust for greed. 

Cat people were forced on labor day and night for royalty's selfishness. Cat girls are always known for their beautiful ladies and strong men. Ladies were used as night toys for men and men's tortured to death.

It was a miracle that Noir and Mia were able to get out of hell. It was all because of the empress's arrival.

If it wasn't for the empress. These two cat girl was sold to some perverted old man who wished to toy these two girls.

"Sob… Sob… Sob… I know right? Royalties are so nasty. Most of the are greedy shitty people. I can understand where you coming at… Sob… Sob… Sob…"

"Hey! No need to cry! Stop! I don't like it when someone passes by and thinks that we make you cry."

Mia yelled.

On the other hand, Noir also started crying.

"remembering the past made me feel sad again!"

"This is why I don't want to tell her."

"But… But… I'm happy that we're able to share our pain with others. That way the weight in my heart lightens a bit."

Noir said and wiped her tears.

Mia turned her head to the princess.

"See! That's how nasty your blood was. For all of those reasons... There is no way I would forgive every single one of you."

"I know… That is why I'll change it. I'll change everything in my journey. As the princess of peace. I'll make sure to make a change. To the past, present, and future."

Lumine said.
