A ghostly but beautiful woman was standing in the middle of something that looked like a set from a horror movie. Blood was everywhere, and multiple corpses were strewn across the floor. To add to the occult-like scene of this room, everything apart from that one ghostly woman was frozen in time, including the rain outside, and if that was not enough, the woman had a strikingly similar appearance to one of the corpses on the floor!
"What in the name of the void is up with this world!? The lack of spirit energy in this place is making it so weak that the mere presence of my soul body is making everything stop around me! Speaking of which, why is there no spirit energy here?"
Spirit energy had a great many different names for a great many different races who all used it in a great many different ways. However, the influential individuals of the universe had agreed to use the name spirit energy. This energy was universally accepted to be generated by the various worlds to aid its inhabitants in gaining strength.
And although the amount of energy available significantly differed from world to world, a world without any spirit energy at all was unheard of. Yet, she was standing in exactly one such world. The shock she was experiencing was significant enough that she even stopped wondering why she was there in the first place.
That is until she suddenly got a splitting headache as the memories from her life in this world started streaming in. She moved her hands to her head in an attempt to rub her temples but completely forgot that she didn't have the energy to make her soul body corporeal, so her hands shot straight through her head, making her look like she was about to give herself a high five, only for her hands to shoot through each other as well.
Combined with her headache, her fumble was causing her to lose her balance and fall straight on her ass. When the headache was over, and she remembered everything, including what just happened, she mumbled, "Thank the spirits no one was there to see that. I'd have had to kill them all, probably causing Hati to scold me. Although... maybe he would also punish me? Heheh- wait! Hati!"
She quickly turned around, remembering she had to do something before it was too late. But she immediately froze as she saw another beautiful woman standing there with a hand before her mouth and her eyes wrinkling in glee. Clearly, she was barely managing to keep her laugh in. Seeing that Luna had noticed her, she immediately let go of her restraint and started laughing her ass off.
"Hahahaha, I can't believe it. The vicious and prideful Luna fumbled and fell on her ass, then started chuckling like a pervert as she thought of her husband doing who knows what to her. Hahahaha. I can't wait to tell the others about this!"
This woman was shorter than Luna, standing at 1.68m (5'5), and looked like the personification of the colour red. Her hair was wavy, long, and had the color of blood. She wore a type of blood-colored cut-out dress that went around her chest, leaving room for substantial cleavage.
It left most of her stomach uncovered and stopped above her knees. Even her skin looked like it had a red glow, as if her entire body was always slightly blushing, which just added to her sex appeal. She had the definition of a bombshell body, with a substantially sized chest, hips, and ass. Combined with her slightly elongated canines, the first impression of this woman would make someone think of a combination between a succubus and a vampire.
"Lilith!" Luna yelled, suddenly remembering that she had given this woman a method of teleporting to her as soon as she regained her memories. Luna had no real friends before her reincarnation, but she did have a relatively close relationship with Lilith. Luna had helped Lilith in the past, causing Lilith to owe her a debt.
In order for Lilith to repay her debt, Luna had made sure that Lilith would appear wherever and whenever she regained her memories to help with any possible issues. Her eyes turned cold, and she assumed the look of an empress commanding her subjects. "You better not speak a word of this to anyone, Lilith."
For just a moment, Lilith looked to be struggling with something, as if she wasn't used to disobeying Luna, but then she smirked and said, "Eh, I admit that the 'training' you gave me in the past to help get my sin shard under control still has some effect on me. But you're dead wrong if you think you can so easily command me now that you're in this weakened state."
"I admit that I'm currently quite weak, but..." Her first words were still said with the look of an empress, but her following words were said with a smirk as she looked at Lilith with confidence dripping from her face.
"We both know that, soon enough, I'll only grow more powerful than in the past. Are you sure you want to risk punishment for your actions when the time comes?" She then started blinking her eyes innocently. "Of course, your other choice is to just kill me now."
Lilith's eyebrows started twitching; she knew Luna was right, and she definitely didn't want to be 'disciplined' by this domineering woman who always seemed to find joy in such things. As Lilith rolled her eyes, she thought, 'She also knows I can't kill her because of the geas she put on me. I could break it, but setting aside the harm that would do to me, I wouldn't kill Luna over something so insignificant, and she knows it. Hateful woman!'
"Fine, fine, forget I said anything. Nothing happened just now." Lilith quickly caved, threw her hands up, and decided to change the topic. "By the way, weren't you saying something about a Hati just now?"
Luna immediately mentally scolded this woman for distracting her with her appearance and quickly floated towards Hati's corpse to stick her ethereal arm into his head. She rooted around a little before she pulled her hand back while holding a brightly shining white orb.
She gently smiled at the orb and said, "Hello, my love. Sorry it took me a little longer, but it seems I was still in time to stop your soul from dissipating." She knew that Hati was essentially in a coma right now because he didn't have the soul strength to stay conscious without a body yet. However, it still comforted her to talk to him. After all, she had just seen him die.
Meanwhile, Lilith looked at the orb with a face full of shock. She would have been less shocked if Luna had pulled a three-headed monkey out of Hati's head instead of his soul. The reason for her surprise stemmed from the level of brightness that was coming from this soul.
Souls had rankings that had nothing to do with their strength and instead regarded their inherent quality or growth potential. She didn't know exactly what ranking this person's soul had reached, but she knew it was higher than herself or anyone else she knew.
Luna, on the other hand, wasn't surprised at all. When she regained the memories of both her lives, she immediately realised that her husband had not one, but multiple sin shards. She suspected at least 2, but possibly three.
Something like that was unheard of and definitely required a special type of soul to stop it from crumbling under the weight of housing so many shards. Seeing the brightly shining light just confirmed her suspicions. She even thought Hati might have a unique soul constitution.
Letting her curiosity get the better of her, she injected a tiny bit of soul force inside the orb to inspect it. Inside, she saw three floating stone-like objects with runes on them, confirming that there were, in fact, three shards.
Two of the three objects looked like they were only partially there, while only the third looked complete. Luna looked at the third object with a gentle expression. But when she looked at one of the other two shards, her face quickly turned into shock as she noticed the aura coming from it.
'This... could be trouble. I might have to use the only trump card I managed to sneak with me during reincarnation. I was saving it for emergencies, but I guess this counts as much as anything else.' After thinking this, she glanced at the still-shocked Lilith and said aloud, "Sorry, Lilith, it seems I'll have to make you suffer a little." Her tone of voice, however, suggested she didn't really care that much.
Lilith immediately made a startled expression and a confused noise, "Huh?"
