Chapter 39 - Memories

Hati relived his entire life in a dream, starting from the moment he was born. Living through his teenage years, where he was barely more than a raging, bipolar lunatic, only reinforced his desire to stay in control.

He reached the point where his previous parents kicked him out, and he wondered what his current and newly reaffirmed parents thought of this. His previous parents were kind and loving people, but Earth was far less used to violence than Asgard.

Then again, his current parents would have surely realised he was host to a sin shard, so it probably would have never been an issue.

Then, he entered adulthood, where he gained a little more control over himself by virtue of experience and maturity. It didn't help much, as he still had to avoid most human contact in order to not go on random rampages.

Next came his first meeting with Luna, a memory he had recently spent some time remembering. He watched the sexual savagery he and Luna engaged in and couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable, considering his parents were watching this.

Afterwards came his massacre of the Morozov family, together with Luna. Although Luna actually didn't do much, she spent most of that time simply following Hati while trying to identify the loss of her desire to dominate him and the almost instinctual deferential feelings she felt towards him.

Plus, she could feel she had more control over her pride. Where before, her pride would force her to act a certain way, now she had choices. Something she appreciated, even though she didn't feel like she would be turning over a new leaf.

After all, for better or worse, the pride shard had affected her personality from the moment she was born, and she liked herself.

She was also trying to determine how she was supposed to feel about Hati in general. After all, things had gotten pretty heated the night before, and by all rights, they should be enemies right now. The only thing that stopped them was this weird connection that neither of them seemed to know anything about.

Meanwhile, Hati was busy fighting his way through the Morozov family towards the Don. He was using his signature full-body armour and hammer with the strength boost from his rage shard.

He was disappointed to have lost that feeling of clarity he had during his encounter with Luna, where he could use all his abilities together. Even his increased control, which the pride shard now gave him, just made him long for that previous state.

Still, the pride shard's new ability to fully suppress his other shards came in handy, as he could now use all the strength from his wrath shard while still remaining in control.

He didn't believe he would lose control again as long as he didn't go through any extreme emotional turmoil, like seeing someone he cared for killed in front of his eyes.

Eventually, they reached a the Morozov Don, who was cowering in his office while pointing a gun at Hati's bound, gagged and wounded parents as he made demands, "N- Not a step further, you monster! I'll kill them!"

Hati was in a bind right now, as he wouldn't be able to reach his parents in time to save them, no matter what he did. But he obviously also couldn't just leave.

This man had stepped on his pride and needed to die. He honestly wasn't sure if he cared more about his pride or the parents who threw him out when he was younger.

He suddenly thought it would be much easier if he were still incapable of controlling himself since he wouldn't have to make a decision then. But he immediately disregarded that idea; he would rather regret a decision than not be able to make that decision in the first place.

As Hati was considering his next move, Luna began to sneak around the walls of the office, away from Hati and towards the Don. Hati didn't notice, as she was behind him, but the Don obviously did.

He panicked a little, unsure what this formidable woman was doing here or whose side she was on. But he calmed down a little when he saw her cast a scared glance at Hati while putting a finger on her lips.

Since she didn't seem to be on Hati's side, and he couldn't afford to move his gun away from his hostages anyway, he decided to ignore her for now. He refocused on Hati and yelled, "Let me go, Hati! Your parents are still alive, we can sti-"

Suddenly, he stiffened and stopped talking. From behind him came Luna, who was caressing his cheek. She then said, "Poor little man, aren't you tired by now? Come, give me the gun, and I'll take care of the rest."

Hati, who was watching this, had narrowed his eyes, unsure what this woman was planning, but deciding he might as well see if this created any openings for him; it's not like Luna could harm him.

The don, meanwhile, had unfamiliar thoughts spring up in his mind about obeying this woman next to him, thoughts he felt compelled to listen to.

It didn't take more than a second for him to hand his gun to Luna, but before Hati could use this opening to charge into the fray, she had turned the gun on the Don and with a face of disgust, she shot him.

Not in any of the typical places, though. No, she shot him in his delicate bits.

The Don uttered a horrifying scream as he sank to his knees while clutching his mangled little brother. She snorted and said, "Hmpf, someone as pathetic as you truly makes me appreciate the difference between Hati and other men."

Regardless of anything else, she could appreciate the kind of person Hati was. Powerful, uncompromising and domineering.

She tossed the gun on the nearby desk and started walking to the scared and bound couple in the corner while saying, "Go do what you need to with the old fool. I'll free your parents."

Hati was still suspicious of her motives but decided to do as she suggested. The worst she could do was use that strange ability on his parents, but since he didn't intend to see them again after today, he didn't care what orders she might give them.

He felt that he had paid back the love he received in his childhood by saving them today, even if he had some help from Luna. It was probably best to just cut all ties again from here on, both for him and them.

He walked up to the Don and shortly considered dragging this out, but since he had plenty of other things on his mind right now, he decided to just end it quickly. He pushed the kneeling Don onto the floor with this boot and said, "It's a shame you couldn't just let me have my autonomy," before he crushed the man's head with his boot.

He walked over to Luna and his parents. Luna had freed them but nothing else and was currently leaning against the wall while ignoring the words of gratitude she was getting from them.

Hati walked up to them and took off his helmet. He was covered in blood from head to toe, and his armour was heavily damaged from today's fighting. All in all, he looked quite fearsome.

Something that didn't fail to affect his parents as they looked at him as if he was a monster while looking for shelter from the woman who had freed them and seemed relatively normal, if somewhat indifferent.

Hati sighed and looked at them, "Let's get you two to a hospital, and then, if all goes well, we never see each other again."

And so it went. His parents ended up at a hospital while Luna and Hati went on their way. They went to the place where Hati had recently been locked up and freed the four women who were still bound there.

After that, Hati and Luna started talking about their mutual experiences with their abilities and what they thought this connection they seemed to share was about.

Eventually, they agreed to keep cooperating in the future in order to find out more about themselves.

As their cooperation continued while also engaging in regular sexual activities, during which Luna discovered she didn't mind giving up control to Hati now and then, even finding joy in it, they eventually fell in love and made their relationship official.

Luna also discovered she enjoyed watching other women get fucked by Hati. Though, rather than being a more traditional cuck fetish, it seems her twisted mind decided that, since Hati had managed to dominate her, then surely that meant he could and should do it to any other woman because, obviously, no woman was better than her.

Hati had no objections for some reason.

They later established themselves as well-known mercenaries and eventually moved to Norway, where they would eventually be killed, after which the memories continued in Asgard.
