Chapter 50 - Training starts

Hati shrugged in response to his father's question, "Well, I'm not. I don't feel any different mentally, and I've never been a racist, so why start now?

Although, I guess this would be called being a speciesist? I think I heard that word somewhere before. Anyway, power is power, and I'll take it in any form that doesn't harm my family."

Sif and Belphegor both laughed at his speech as Sif said, "That's a good attitude to take! And not one a lot of people would agree with you about. Either in regards to family or power."

Belphegor cleared his throat and said, "Anyway, let's get back on track. Yes, you still have the human, snow demon and calamity wolf bloodlines.

You see, when you finished your elemental awakening, a large amount of sixth-revolution calamity wolf blood was suddenly released. We can only assume this was another gift from whoever put you here.

So we had to reverse what we did back then, and in the process, we divided your bloodline equally between the available parts since we thought that would bring you the most benefits and also leave you in the most stable condition.

We didn't think you would mind becoming a little less human, and luckily, we were right."

Hati smirked, "So I'm some kind of tri-blood instead of half-blood, huh? Doesn't sound too bad. And uh, not sure how to say this, but thanks for the blood, Dad. I'm guessing that came from you, at least."

Belphegor laughed, "Haha, yeah, that came from me, of course. And it's no problem. Since I decided to consider you my son and promised to help you become powerful, I'll go all in. Despite my sloth shard, I've never done anything half-assedly."

Hati smiled, "I'm lucky to have such parents in this life."

To this, Sif kissed him on the cheek and ruffled his hair, "And don't you forget it!"

Squashing down the protests from his pride and wrath shard about being treated like a little kid, he wondered aloud, "So, since I have now become an equally divided tri-blood, shouldn't I actually have some horns? Fur? Blue skin? Anything?"

He inspected his arms and legs while continuing, "Despite not being predominantly human anymore, I still look pretty damn human."

Belphegor shrugged, "Well, what your mother and I pulled off is already considered impossible; you can't really blame us for not doing it perfectly.

Unfortunately, although we could divide your three bloodlines equally and keep them stable in that state, we didn't manage to combine them in the same way that a normal half-blood has its two equally divided bloodlines in a combined state.

On the other hand, you have three equally divided bloodlines, but they are more like three people living in the same room rather than just one.

In fact, when you were rampaging during your bloodline awakening, you kept changing between the forms of a human, a calamity wolf and a snow demon. And even after the awakening was done, you still kept changing form while sleeping.

That is why your mother put a seal on your other two bloodlines to keep you in human form for now. In other words, we now have another thing to train you in during the coming year, as you'll need to keep your transformations under control without having to seal them.

And then, hopefully, one day, you'll be able to truly combine your bloodlines."

Although most people might be discouraged upon hearing they would have more work on their plate, Hati actually looked excited instead, and not just a little bit, either. He was clearly rearing to go.

And what would you expect? He had spent the last sixteen years sitting on his ass, wondering what happened to Luna and despairing over the fact that he couldn't do anything except read books, mess around with Astrid and attempt to resolve his elemental dissonance.

But now! Now, he had a clear goal and a clear plan on how to get there. All that was needed from him was hard work and a determined attitude, as his loving parents had already provided everything else.

If he still failed despite all this, wouldn't he be better off having never been reborn?

"So! When do we get started?" He asked his parents.

Seeing his excited expression, Sif and Belphegor shared a proud look before Belphegor stood up and moved to a desk, where he sat down and took out a book.

He then said with a smile, "We start right now, of course. There's no time to waste, after all. So, while I make some changes to a gift I prepared for you, little wolf will help you get to the ninth rank of your heart focal as fast as possible."

At this point, Sif stood up and dragged Hati to the meditation area, saying, "Come on, Peanut. It's time to put you through Hel. I believe I heard an appropriate expression from Earth in your memories: no rest for the wicked, I think it was? Very appropriate right now."

Hati, more concerned with his mother calling him Peanut again than the prospect of being put through Hel, simply let himself get dragged while preparing himself for whatever she had in store for him.

Obviously, he also had to stomp on his wrath and pride shard again, which was slowly becoming a common occurrence when dealing with his mother.

He kind of missed when he was an actual kid since back then, it made sense to be treated like this, making his sin shards less opposed to it, but now it was a little harder to deal with. Still, he had already decided to put up with it so as not to lose another family.

******

Hati and Sif were sitting across from each other on the meditation mats as Sif explained the next steps, "Since we now have even more to do in the coming year, we'll have to speed up the process by an unpleasant amount.

We'll be cranking the rank of your heart focal all the way to nine so you can form your soul and spirit cores. And we'll be doing it in the next month!"

Hati nodded with a wry smile, "Alright, so what awful and unpleasant method are we using to shorten the usual five or so years to a month?"

Sif smiled, "Good question, Peanut!" Unfortunately for Hati, Sif always sought new reasons for her son to use his brain, "But I also think you can figure this out yourself; considering the methods the two of us have at our disposal, what do you think would be the most efficient and least harmful method?"

Hati did not need long to think before he realised the truth; with a questioning expression, he said, "Is it pills?"

"Ding ding ding," She said with a proud smile before retrieving her storage ring and pouring bottles full of red pills all over the ground. "Your uncle and I have been preparing for this day for the last six years.

Of course, we didn't know you could purify your blood, so we expected to take about three years with this, as that is about how long it takes an ordinary member of the Fenrir clan who has someone powerful and wealthy enough in their life to do this for them."

She then waved her hand over the small pile filled with pill bottles, "Plenty of powerful members of the Fenrir clan use these pills to speed up the development of their children by using the blood element to help absorb the nutrients and purify the toxins.

With my fourth revolution cultivation and expert usage of the blood element, I can do the same for you, but your lust shard will allow us to go above and beyond what others in the Fenrir clan are doing. If all goes well, we should be done with this pile in no time."

She took a pill out of one of the bottles and explained, "A lot of the fairies in the Bönd clan are alchemists, and they created this crimson foundation pill specifically to aid the mortals of the Fenrir clan in achieving the ninth rank after stepping onto the road of Einherjar.

You're not supposed to take more than one a day, and even with someone like me helping, it still wouldn't be wise to go above two." She poured ten pills on her hand despite her words, "But with your lust shard, you should be able to go way above that."

She handed him one of the pills and said, "We'll still be careful, though; take one at a time for now. I'll help you absorb and purify while we see how your lust shard holds up. That way, we can figure out how many pills you can take a day, and then we'll start speeding up."

Hati nodded and said, "Let's get started then!" Before he popped the pill into his mouth.
