Settling on a decision

With a piece of fabric in his hand that he obtained by tearing the hem of the maid's skirt using his sword, Canillas ran deeper into the forest with a frantic beating heart. He really wished he was not late to find his wife.

He was not sure where to head if he did not pay attention to the trace she left behind from the point where she left the initial area where the wolves appeared.

When the trace was blurred as there were no trampled grasses and some other evidence that showed the presence of someone who had ruined the peacefulness of what seemed to be an untouched forest, he chose the flat and opened path compared to the path that was hurdled with bushes and plank roots as he learned that it was the type of road she tended to choose during his way of tracing her whereabouts.
