Endless (Chapter 16)

Well then I guess it's time to start my journey in this world, Endless.

"Data keyed into the system. System loading. Generating terrain. Generating backstory of Player 'Aeternum Peccatum'. Race chosen after analysing character input, Demonkind", the system said.

Is my skills that bad. I personally thought that it's the bare minimum of what you should have to make the journey through the game world, Endless more easier considering what type of trouble might appear while traveling.

Anyways let's see how my journey through the world, Endless will go.

Hmmmm. Where am I? Middle of a forest? Looking around I let out a sigh. I need traverse the forest to find my way out. What's worse is that I don't know my way and don't really have an actual way to fight.

"Welcome to the world of Endless. Please choose your beginner weapon", the system said.

"Ah thanks for the help", I said.

"Please select your beginner weapon", the system said.

Now let see what type of weapon is there. Just the typical sword, dagger, staff, shortsword, rapier, greatsword, empty grimoire and a scythe.

Now what do I feel like it's suitable for the current situation. I'm stuck in a forest without any way out so I don't want to waste my energy thus ruling out rapier and greatsword. I need a long range weapon but currently do not how to use magic which leaves me with a scythe.

With no other options left I chose the sycthe as my beginner weapon to start off my journey.

After choosing my weapon I asked the system, "Is there any form of tutorial?".

"Tutorial starts at the Beginner Town in the human country called 'Lyra' being famous for the musical history that started 300 years ago", the system replied.

"Is there a minimap feature that I can use to find my way out?", I asked the system.

"To unlock the in-game map feature player needs to complete the tutorial", the system replied.

So I'm stuck here for the time being. I looked around to find a place to call a temporary home. As I was looking around a tall mountain range came to view.

Decided to hike the mountain and look down to find a nearby village. As I was climbing I found a cave that can be used as shelter for the time being.

Near the cave entrance there's a round rock that can be used to close the cave so that no animal attack me while I'm resting.

Found a shelter next I look for a water source. Luckily I found a waterfall flowing down of the nearby mountain. Now all I need is food source to not let my in game character starve.

I also need heat source to not freeze to death at night. I can find food while collecting firewood.

Like I thought, I found wild berries while collecting firewood. To test for poison I smudged some crushed berries on the back of my hand. Luckily rashes didn't start even after 30 minutes.

As there's no poison I collected all the berries I could find. Found enough I returned to the cave and arranged some firewood to start a campfire.

With no experience in camping I recalled on what they do in movies. I get a wooden plank and a stick. I rolled the stick in my palm while making sure that the plank is touching one end of the stick. With friction I should be able to start fire.

Before long the plank starts to smoke up so I blowed into it. Which causes it to light up in fire. I tossed firewoods while continuing to blow it. Before long the fire became quite stable and no longer needed blowing.

Tired of making fire I say directly in front of the fire. And studied my stats.
