I never thought today would be the day my life took a drastic turn. The past year had been crap. I had this horrible relationship with his guy, Nick, and I regret every minute of it. We make it to the coffee shop without incident, thank the Lord. We order our drinks and sit down to figure things out. "What if we just went to the zoo? Very informal. We don't need anything fancy, that's not us. We can take Leah to the zoo with us." Erin tells me, having thought about it the entire car ride here. "I'm sure your parents would be willing to make dinner for us. The situation is really not as bad as you're making it out to be be. Just relax and see that there is a solution." I don't respond for a while but she watches me closely, my breaths become longer and my jaw tightens in determination, my eyes strain with concentration. She can easily tell I'm trying to beat my emotions back into their box so I can think.
