CHAPTER:17

The plane started to drop from a high altitude suddenly. One of the wings was destroyed, and fire was raging on the turbines, visible through the windows. I knew that I was going to die, but I worried for my friends. Tears streamed down my face in my last moments, and then everything went dark as I lost consciousness.

When I finally woke up, I struggled to breathe as I found myself submerged underwater. Someone suddenly pulled me out of the water and dragged me to the riverside. It was Louis. The surroundings were desolate – the crash had left death in its wake. More than half of the passengers had perished, some lying lifeless on the ground while others drowned in the water. The plane was engulfed in flames, and my injuries were severe, making it impossible to move. My left leg was brutally bleeding, and I was in the darkest phase of my life.

As my eyes scanned the woods, I couldn't spot my friends anywhere. I saw Vincent unconscious on the ground and dragged myself towards him, only to discover he wasn't breathing. The pain of losing a friend due to a senseless trip overwhelmed me. Louis held me, preventing me from losing myself completely. The burden was too much for my weakened body, causing me to faint once more.

When I woke up again, my wounds were covered, and I lay beneath a tree. The forest was shrouded in darkness, with no moonlight reaching the ground. Despite the pain, I gathered my strength, struggling to rise and searching for Louis. However, my vision remained blurred, unable to discern any signs of life around me. I attempted to rub my eyes, my wounded hands carefully bandaged. Every step was agony, but I pressed on in my quest.Suddenly, the sound of footsteps reached my ears.
