(38) Application of killing intent

In the afternoon, Lucas began his classes with Grandpa Jhune.

Jhune didn't teach any new arts but instead taught Lucas more versatile usage of Killing intent art this time.

"Before I begin, I have a question for you. Why do you want to learn how to kill others?"

Lucas squinted his eyes, trying to read Jhune's intention behind this question.

'It doesn't seem like he would act hostile no matter how I answer anyway...' Lucas gave up, seeing Jhune's blank face.

"For benefits and lust."

Lucas didn't lie, this was his true feelings. He didn't have something like vengeance or noble intentions like killing villains. It was his selfish decision to kill the protagonist and rob them of their female lead and villain aura.

Jhune looked deeply into Lucas's eyes, placing his hand behind him.

"I see. This might be hard for you, but keep this in your mind till the end. Killing others is an arduous act, it gets tedious and you lose your interest in it soon."

Lucas focused on Jhune's words, feeling the serious atmosphere.

"Pleasure and satisfaction from exacting revenge is an important emotion. It can act as a driving force, allowing humans to bring out power much more than their capacity. But it is clearly not possible for you."

"Therefore, you will have to fall in love with killing itself. If you just kill others most efficiently...Where's the thrill in that?"

Like a hundred needles poking into him, Lucas felt the words sink into his mind. He didn't reject this teaching from a great villain. He felt that such an attitude was actually more fitting for a villain.

"So try to enjoy yourself when you feel it's not necessary to give it your all."

Lucas smiled bitterly and replied: "Haha, that might be hard. The people I will face are extremely unreasonable after all, but I will think of what you told me if I find myself before a normal enemy."

Jhune nodded his head, still showing none of his internal thoughts.

'But one thing is clear, if I were to rate who is the evilest person I know, it's definitely him.' Lucas watched Jhune walk nearer to him.

"First and foremost, you must never let your hostility be known to the people. As long as you follow this, the killing intent art will be your strongest companion."

Lucas tilted his head feeling an ominous sensation rising through his body.

"Ack!" Suddenly, Lucas held his throat, feeling as if something was stuck there. A sense of dizziness washed over him rapidly, causing him to falter and fall. Searing pain originated from his heart, making him scream helplessly.

Just before Lucas lost consciousness, the pain subsided like it never existed.

Turning his head to Jhune, Lucas felt like throwing all the profanity that came into his mind. Only Jhune was the one who could make Lucas go through something like that, out of nowhere.

"Just like this, if you used your killing intent to block the blood from your one's heart, you can make them experience cardiac arrest." Jhune continued his explanation apathetically.

Confusion flashed past Lucas's eyes, "Why couldn't I sense any kind of spiritual fluctuation?"

Jhune turned his back, before leaving behind a few words: "It's because your senses aren't strong enough."

Lucas's brain turned gears swiftly, getting to know this new application of his killing intent. 'I wonder what would be the result if I directly damaged the brain with it...'

.....

Time flew by quickly and it was evening.

In the end, Terence could only invite two of the controllers of rulers in Halmen district.

Nevertheless, Lucas was satisfied with just that. Just gaining another ruler's support would increase his chances of winning astronomically.

Lucas fixed his collar looking at himself in the mirror, 'It would be for the best if I win over both of their help anyway. If the protagonist's aura comes into play again, something out of my expectation might happen.'

"Sir, it's time." A servant reminded Lucas as per his father's order.

"Um, alright let's go." Lucas turned to Syuzia, who was fully prepared alongside him. He could already feel that she had grown a few centimeters.

The mansion was extra clean today and decorations were all around the place. The tables in the main hall were covered in costly white cloth sheets.

People could already be seen walking into the hall, greeting Terence who was present there. Most of them had lower status than Terence, coming here to make some good connections.

Lucas was greeted immediately upon his arrival. They did their best to leave a good impression, introducing their sons and daughters too.

The rumor of Lucas experiencing a second awakening was spread to a large degree at this point. Most if not all influential people were aware of this fact.

Today, an official from the government would arrive to measure Lucas's potential too.

A few ten minutes passed by and everyone who was invited arrived at the party venue by now.

All the invited guests already gathered in groups, around the most influential figure and talked about business in a low voice.

Lucas was surrounded by his school friends and some kids with influential parents.

"Wow, I thought that it was just a joke, but you really did experience a second awakening!" A boy with reddish-brown hair spoke humorously. He was a legitimate villain, having just a little lower villain aura compared to Lucas.

"Yeah me too. You are really amazing, Lucas." Everyone followed on, identifying the boy with red hair to be in a higher position.

Lucas smiled at this person, he didn't dislike keeping a healthy relationship with a fellow villain.

"I'm just lucky. It's a pleasure to meet you too, Galtev." Lucas extended his hand in a friendly manner.

"The pleasure's all mine!" Galtev held Lucas's hand while smiling similarly to him.

The moment they both made eye contact, they were aware of what the other thought.

Galtev's smile deepened by a level, 'I might have made a good connection unexpectedly.'

Lucas continued chatting with the youths around him, as the party continued. The two important figures kept their distance, almost like they had agreed upon an unsaid rule.

Terence already set a meeting between Lucas and the two. It was set to happen after the banquet.

The party soon arrived at its climax, where Lucas cut the cake which was the same size as him.

'I thought I got used to this life, but I guess I'm still not fully immune.'

Not long after, the official with the device to measure Lucas's potential arrived.
