Running Away

"A pie?" Elara frowned but Killian nodded as if his life was depending on it. "My mother used to bring it though my old nanny. They serve the best pie in the empire." Elara doubted it. But how could she refuse when Killian was looking at her with such hopes. She had already refused him to take him to the market.

And it would only take half an hour.

"If you can not do that.." he trailed, his eyes looking dim again and she felt a wave of guilt crushing her chest.

"No, of course, I can buy it for you. But you have to promise me that you would not leave this room." he nodded at once. His eyes were full of hope that she laughed. How easy it was to convince a child.

He nodded at once, smiling like a fool who had gotten a treasure. Elara could never have enough of that smile. She gave her a few more instructions before closing the door and leaving the room.
