"Because I do not deserve him." The word fell like lead between them, making Nadia dumbfounded for a moment. "Besides.. I am not doing this for him. If the war started, my family, my sister would be dragged into it too. So many innocents would die. "Then, let's hurry." she murmured and crouched on the ground to pick up the reptile. It slithered and struggled on her grip. And hissed when she did not let it go.

"Nadia, if you killed it. I am not sure if I can make another one." she had never chanted the same spell on an object twice. She looked at Nadia pensively but the woman just held the snake closer to her mouth and ate it making Bella gasp.
