Blinded

[1917 - Munich]

A siren had gone off several times since the morning, and the mansion was on fire. The fire was so huge that not even a single servant could leave it alive. Dahlia made sure no one walked out alive… Even Heinrich.

For years, she had contemplated, wondered, pondered, and studied the journals inside the chest. Now that she had to witness a war, she knew her decisions were right.

Dahlia stood outside the mansion as it burned down to ashes. Her 3-year-old child was holding her finger and standing next to her, watching the mansion burn. She saw Fritz Hoover running out of it.

"Mr. Hoover!" Dahlia waved to him in concern.

"Miss!" Fritz Hoover said, running out of breath. "I have confirmed it with my own eyes." He muttered. "The Great Father has finally passed away after centuries of living."
