Avery tightened his grip on his phone and couldn't speak, as though something was stuck in his throat.
The director continued, "It would be best to donate his heart within twelve hours after his death. But it's too long now. We can't catch the time."
Avery glanced sideways and saw Darlene looking at him on the bed. A trace of anticipation flashed through her eyes.
He could not accept this fact. He really ruined the heart that was compatible with Nigel.
Avery did not know what to say for a moment, but he wanted to push the blame onto the hospital. "Even if he passes away, you can preserve his heart at a low temperature. Why didn't you do that?"
The director was a little puzzled. What Avery meant was that he wanted the heart when it was gone.
