Darlene's hands fell down powerlessly as she was unable to push the person in front of her away.
Her face turned deathly pale, and her voice was filled with deep hatred. "Avery, you are delusional. There is no connection left between us. You should abandon this idea!"
As people passed by, Avery held her tightly while she tried to retreat. Her back pressed against the wall.
With a tone of firmness, his voice was clear and low, falling over Darlene's head like an airtight net.
Darlene wished to dodge but was unable to. It was as if she had been trapped at a dead end again, as she had been many years before.
The voice above her was clear and firm. "I won't let go. We had two years of marriage, and I only recognize you as my wife. Darlene, don't lie to me. You haven't been with any other man these past two years."
Darlene's voice weakened, and she was suffering from a splitting headache. She couldn't hold on any longer.
