When he answered the phone, Braylen looked at the time. It was almost six o'clock in the evening.
Only then did he come back to his senses. He remembered that he had an appointment with Griffin to have dinner with the two families at six o'clock in the evening.
On the other end of the phone, Darlene's voice came over. "Braylen, where are you? We're almost at the restaurant. Are you there?"
She had wanted to call earlier to remind Braylen.
But, thinking that something had happened to Josefina, Braylen might not be able to finish his work for a while.
Besides, although he didn't look like he had a proper schedule on weekdays, as a businessman, he still had a strong sense of time.
He would never be late for a meal, let alone stand someone up.
So, she didn't want to call him too early to urge him. It wasn't until now that she and Gustave left for the restaurant that she called and asked.
