Avery knew that the doctor had misunderstood and thought that he and Darlene were married.
Seeing that there were no other accompanying people here, he hesitated for a moment, wondering if it would be inappropriate to undress Darlene.
The doctor saw that he didn't move and thought that his hands simply couldn't use much strength as he was sitting in a wheelchair. She spoke up again.
"If you can't help, you have to make a little bit of space and let the nurse undress your wife."
On both sides of the bed were Darlene's hospital equipment. Because there were some breathing equipment and a few more on either side, the place was occupied. It was not good for the doctor to approach her from there and undress her.
On the other side, Avery sat beside Darlene, who was lying on the bed.
If he couldn't do anything to help, he could only get out of the way and let the nurse come to his position.
