Chapter 42

Beth's POV

"Over my dead body," Aaron snarls, leaning forward a little and bending his knees in a defensive position, his hands shaking at his sides. I watch in horror as everyone surrounding me, some in human form, others in wolf, copying Aaron's actions, and shifting so that they encircle Aaron and I a little. It's like they're preparing to fight... And that's so not happening.

"Whatever you say," Joe snarls back, crouching himself. "We can handle it. It's about time that skank died, before she can cause any more harm," he says, spitting the word 'skank' and making me pause as memories hit me like a brick wall.
