Beth's POV
A pair of huge eyes peered through the ragged, crooked window.
I stared at the eyes intently and I immediately recognized it from earlier. It was the eyes of Clawl, the monster that escaped from the forest.
He stared at us with a terrible purr in his throat, and then he pushed open the window with his slender arms and slowly crept in.
I held the box tightly in my arms and backed away, while Aaron stood in a defensive position in front of me.
He was holding a bright red heart in his hand, which was still beating faintly, and blood was dripping on the floor from between his fingers.
Seeing it entering like the way he did, only strengthened the resolve in my heart that it was really the same Monster from the Witch’s book.
But one question bothered me though, Whose heart was in his hands?
My mind wandered back to the corpse of the two Alpha’s and I remembered they were both without hearts already.
