Beth's POV
It had already happened, and it may well be the disaster predicted. We didn't want to hide it from Alexander and Nina, so we told them about our encounter with the prophet in the woods.
"So, you are saying that one of the newborns of the pack will bear a different fate?" After hearing the prophecy, Nina was not in the right state.
She was shaking all over, putting her fingers to her mouth and gnawing them.
Nina's fear surprised me. Figuring that she was worried about me, I held her hand and whispered to comfort her, "It's fine. I'm sure we will think of something."
Nina frowned and moved her lips hesitantly. It looked like she wanted to say something to me, but she was struggling at the same time.
