Elizabeth was clear whose sight line it was.
But Elizabeth didn't care. She held the cup and lowered her head to take a sip.
Sure enough, it tasted the same as the cup she had drunk before.
Keith could see her cherry-colored lips sipping on the cup's edge as they got closer. The color of her lips was distinct from the edge of the cup, which made Keith feel a little lure.
Keith pushed his glasses up his nose and forced himself to look away. He asked softly, "Don't you still care about...?"
Hearing this, Elizabeth paused.
Keith smiled and lowered his voice.
"I mean, don't you mind what everyone said?"
In fact, there was not much difference between the two questions. Only by not caring could one not mind.
Thinking of this, Elizabeth smiled. "What they said is the truth."
Their marriage was fake. What was the end of not admitting that? What was the point of caring about what others say?
