John stood rooted to the spot, and after a long silence, he asked in a subdued voice, "Mr. Hart, are you sure you want to check out of the hospital? Your body is still far from healed."
Max's face darkened at his words.
"Can't you see how she treats me? She just wants to get rid of me as soon as possible."
John blinked in confusion and then blinked again. "But Mr. Hart, you were the one who got mad and said you wanted to check out. Ms. Blaine didn't say anything."
Max was speechless.
"And, if you hadn't asked her why she brought you food today, Ms. Blaine wouldn't have confessed to you at all."
Max's face turned even gloomier.
"What about tomorrow, or the day after?"
"Mr. Hart, in my opinion, if you want to be with Ms. Blaine, you shouldn't make it clear. Ignorance is bliss. You're courting her, to begin with. If you put everything on the table, how can you win her heart?"
