Hearing this, Elizabeth was startled.
How could Sylvia have such an idea? How could she know the feeling of reluctance?
She frowned slightly, but then stretched it out again, squatting down and beckoning to Sylvia.
Sylvia walked over and nestled into her arms.
"Mommy."
"Who taught you those words just now?" Elizabeth tentatively whispered.
Hearing the words, Sylvia replied softly, "No one taught me, Mommy. It was my own thought. You went to peek at the window as soon as you came back. Aren't you watching Max?"
Elizabeth said, "No, I was just going to draw the curtains."
"But I saw you draw the curtain a little and peep through the gap."
Elizabeth didn't know what to say.
Was she her mother or not? Why did she keep taking someone else's side?
