Noticing the unnatural expression on her face, Todd touched her soft cheek and said, "If you don't want to, we won't see them."
Leia took a deep breath and said, "No, I want to see them."
She held Todd's hand tightly. She asked uncertainly, "Todd, once we get engaged, or even get married, will you abandon me? Just like my father once sold me in France..."
Todd sighed and looked into her eyes firmly. "No, never. I'm a man of principle. Once I make a choice, I won't change, nor will I regret it. Since I've decided to get engaged to you, no matter what happens, I will never leave you for the rest of my life."
His voice was as serious as usual, as if he was talking about work.
However, his promise made Leia moved.
"I'm relieved to hear that from you. It's time to cut off some fake bonds that shouldn't exist this time."
Todd touched her head.
With Todd by her side, Leia felt confident and safe in everything she did.
