She looked up, and their eyes met.
Elaina did not know if it was her illusion, but she felt that Jalen looked at her differently from before.
"It's on me," Jalen said.
"No, thanks. I still have the money for a meal," Elaina chuckled with her chin in one of her hands.
She didn't like Jalen, and she even hated him. She felt that she would have no appetite if she sat with him for a meal.
"Elaina, let's talk." In the end, Jalen was the first to compromise.
This made Elaina feel even more curious. There was no room to talk about between them.
"Let's pretend that nothing happened before and get to know each other again. What do you think?" he asked, feeling very nervous.
Elaina laughed when she heard that. Then, she shook her head under Jalen's gaze. "Not very good."
"Why? I know what happened to the Gansburg family made you unhappy. At worst, I will cooperate with the Gansburg family again. Is this okay?"
