As soon as Elaina arrived at the hospital, a nurse hurriedly approached her, "Dr. Gainsford, I'm so glad you're here."
"What's wrong?" Elaina asked, puzzled, as she followed the nurse forward.
"The patient's family specifically requested you to perform the surgery," the nurse said.
While talking, Elaina caught sight of the patient's family member mentioned by the nurse, only to realize it was a long-lost acquaintance.
It's quite strange when you think about it. Back when she was in New York, she and Jaydon were far apart, but even then, this man would often appear in front of her.
Now that she's in Boston, she actually sees him much less.
"Ella." Jaydon approached her, his smile more restrained than before, and with a touch of maturity.
Elaina didn't know what Jaydon had been through these days, but seeing his slightly mature appearance, she guessed that the Becker family probably wasn't very peaceful either.
