Savanna let out a cold smile. The tears in her eyes were about to fall, but she forced them back.
"Do it."
...
Leo parked the car at the entrance of the gem shop. As he walked into the shop, he passed by the figure of the man in a white suit who came out of the shop.
Leo was dazzled by the jewelry in the glass cabinet. Finally, his eyes fell on the diamond ring on the manager's hand. He was shocked. He thought, it seemed to be Mr. Cassel's wedding ring.
Leo looked carefully again and found that it was a limited-edition blue diamond ring.
He asked the manager, "How much is this one?"
The manager was just about to put the ring into the jewelry box. Hearing someone asking for the price, he smiled happily.
"Sir, you have good taste. 15 million dollars. If you really want it, I can give you a discount. I'll tell you secretly that someone just sells it."
Leo felt as if someone had knocked his head hard.
He had an answer in his heart.
He asked, "Who did it? Savanna Thompson?"
The manager pointed at the door.
"The guy in a white suit."
Leo looked up at the door and saw the figure of the man in a white suit bending over and sitting in the car. The man seemed to be David's assistant, Justin.
When Leo called Brandon, Brandon was sitting in a large office chair, reading documents.
"Mr. Cassel, Mrs. Cassel sold the wedding ring."
Brandon was holding the pen. He paused slightly. The ink dripped on the document and blurred the words on it.
"For how much?"
"12 million dollars."
Brandon was stunned. He tugged his tie in frustration and tore the page of the document that had been soaked. In her heart, I am only worth 12 million dollars.
Savanna, what a heartless gold digger!
Brandon shook his head. He didn't want to be upset with her again. Since they were going to divorce, he would not fuss about those things, nor would he make things difficult for Savanna. He was a gentleman and would divorce Savanna directly.
He hung up the phone.
Leo was at a loss about what to do. The manager asked him if he wanted to buy it. He did not dare to make the decision. In the end, he could only shake his head.
He then took the necklace that Brandon had booked for Giselle and left the gem store, heading to the Cassel's home.
Savanna sold all her accessories and even sold all the houses. The money she gathered was only enough to repay half of the debt of the Thompson Group.
Justin invited the bank president to dinner in her name several times.
But he was rejected.
Savanna had no choice but to go to the bank in person. After waiting for a few hours, she saw Leo coming out from inside. Leo was a little surprised to see Savanna.
"Mrs. Cassel, what are you doing here?"
"Is Mr. Newton here?"
"Yes, I just met him."
Savanna nodded at Leo, turned around, and walked into the elevator.
Leo turned back to look at the elevator that had closed. Outside of the bank, he saw Justin leaning against the car, looking down at his phone.
"Justin."
Justin looked up and saw that it was Brandon's assistant. He cast a cold glance at Leo, and then he played on his phone again.
"Justin, has something happened to the Thompson Group?"
Leo's face was full of suspicion. Savanna had sold the wedding ring. Now she came to the bank to look for the president. Needless to say, something had happened to the Thompson Group.
Justin snorted.
He muttered, "Don't pretend that you don't know. I've never seen a heartless man like Brandon."
"What happened to the Thompson Group?"
Leo didn't want to hear Justin's nonsense, so he went straight to the point.
Justin ended the game and put his phone back in his pocket.
"The capital chain of the Thompson Group is broken, and it's the end of the year. There are many people who are trying to demand payment of the debt. The bank cut off the loans. Mr. Thompson is so angry that he is hospitalized due to intracerebral hemorrhage. Ms. Thompson sold all the things that could be sold, but it's just a drop in the bucket. I don't know how your boss became his husband. Ms. Thompson has been in trouble for so long, but I never saw him call her."
The more Justin spoke, the angrier he became. He vented all his dissatisfaction towards Brandon on Leo.
"Mr. Cassel is busy."
Leo's voice trembled uncontrollably.
"Excuse." Justin didn't want to argue with Leo anymore, so he got into the car.
Justin waited in the car, while Leo waited outside. When Savanna came out of the bank, Leo walked up to her.
He asked with worry, "How is it? Did Eden agree to lend money to the Thompson Group?"
Savanna glanced at him, her eyes blank and lost. Seeing her shake her head lightly, Leo could no longer hold back his anger. He wanted to go inside the bank but was stopped by Savanna.
"With the Thompson Group's current situation, no bank will be willing to give us the loan. It is understandable, Leo."
Leo looked at Savanna for a while.
"I'll call Mr. Cassel. Eden is just a snobbish person."
Savanna stopped Leo.
"The divorce between me and Brandon has not been announced to the public. Eden also knows that I am Brandon's wife. Yet he refused to lend money. Don't call Brandon. It won't change anything."
Leo knew that what Savanna said was all excuses.
The proud Savanna just didn't want to beg for Brandon's mercy.
Brandon knew what the Thompson Group was facing, but he remained silent.
Several times, Leo wanted to tell Brandon about the Thompson Group's situation, but he swallowed the words at the last minute.
Leo felt sorry for Savanna, a weak woman with a baby in her belly.
Leo's gaze swept over Savanna's flat belly. His heart started to ache.
"Don't tell him that I'm pregnant."
Savanna opened the door and got into the car. Leo wanted to say something. But before he could open his mouth, Justin had started the car.
Savanna went back to the hospital to help David clean his body. Brandon called.
"Where are you?"
"Home."
Brandon naturally knew that Savanna didn't mean the Rose Villas.
"Today is Grandpa's 80th birthday. I'm calling to remind you. Leo will send you the dress later."
"Alright."
Savanna replied indifferently.
"Don't you have anything to say to me?"
Brandon wanted to give her a chance to talk about the Thompson Group.
"No."
Brandon felt very uncomfortable with Savanna's indifferent attitude. He tugged at the tie around his neck.
"Alright."
The call ended.
Savanna felt that Brandon was kind of mad when he said "Alright".
Something had happened to the Thompson Group. David had a stroke. Yet she did not ask Brandon for help. She thought, Brandon should be happy.
After all, isn't all of this something he wished for?
To be precise, isn't he the one who planned all this?
At six o'clock in the afternoon, Leo sent the dress on time. It was a white dress with a slanted shoulder, which matched Savanna's fair skin well. She was one and a half months pregnant, so she didn't show her pregnancy. Her figure was perfect, so no one could see that she was pregnant.
Leo looked at Savanna, who was extremely beautiful. His eyes lit up. He was slightly lost in thought.
Leo drove the car and soon arrived at the Cassel's home.
Brandon had been waiting at the door for a long time. When he saw Savanna getting out of the car, he hurried over and reached out to her. Savanna turned her face away. Brandon sneered when he was refused by Savanna.
