Brandon's fingers trembled as he held the cigarette. He smiled mockingly, "How should I coax her?
"I am never good at coaxing others. I have never even coaxed Savanna, let alone Chloe."
Rex looked at Brandon sadly. "That's why she has been away from you these years. You asked for it."
Rex raised his wrist to look at his watch and patted Brandon on the shoulder. "Just wait here. There should still be a few hours before she gets out. I'm sure she'll want to see you when she wakes up. Otherwise, who knows how big a scene she will make by then?
"I have surgery. Got to go."
After Rex left, the corridor suddenly quieted down. The cool wind blew the scattered hair next to Brandon's ears. The sensor lights shone on his face, leaving a faint halo on it.
The world was quiet.
Brandon, however, wasn't calm.
