As I hurry through the darkened hallway of the pack house, I decide to mind-link Gomez. He needs to be informed about the sudden turn of events. Who knows? Maybe Amanda could go looking for revenge; starting with him. After all, she has a plethora of targets to choose from -- including myself.
I receive no response, which only raises my stress levels. Gomez always replies, even if it's a brief afterthought just to say he is busy. Right now, it feels as if every mental thought is hitting a brick wall. I tell myself that he's probably asleep. I should try again later.
"Nora?" I call loudly, hoping the matriarch of Midnight Fire will appear. Kieran closes the door behind us, carrying our sparse luggage.
"We're in here, dear." A soft voice flutters through the air. "Are you alright?"
