I find myself smoothing the ruffled collar of his shirt, letting my fingers trail the edges of his hair. I get caught up in the moment, fixated on his golden eyes and they way they dance back at me. "Don't be a stranger." I mutter. "Take care, guys." Dante nods to the rest of the room, who return the gesture rather half-heartedly. Initially, I narrow my eyes at the muted response but I let it go, choosing to watch Dante stride down the hallway and disappear down the stairs. "Are you back together?" Uncle Jerry appears beside me, keeping his voice down. "Yeah, you could say that." I smile, looking out of the colonial style windows. "We're giving it another go. Life is too short to keep fighting."
