Kaylah patiently coaxed Hendry to sleep and repeatedly guaranteed that she would not leave when he was asleep. Only then did Hendry obediently close his eyes.
Perhaps it was because he had not rested well for the past few days, or perhaps it was because he felt at ease with Kaylah by his side.
Hendry really fell asleep though he didn't plan to do this.
Listening to his calm breathing, Kaylah secretly heaved a sigh of relief.
When seeing Chad return, Kaylah told him that she had to go back first.
"Do you want to take this opportunity to leave?"
Like boss, like assistant. Chad thought the same as Hendry.
Kaylah glared at Chad. "Do you think I'm the kind of person who always breaks my promises?"
Chad thought for a moment and finally agreed.
"Ms. Delgado, don't forget that Mr. Lowery was injured to save you. You have to take responsibility, right?"
