Wendy turned to Elsa and said, "And Elsa, I warn you, you promised Alex yesterday that you won't back out."
Elsa was annoyed at Wendy's eagerness to have her marry Alex.
"I know, I'll keep my promise, you don't need to remind me."
"Good."
Wendy was in a good mood and even hummed a tune.
She didn't care about Elsa's mood. To her, the possibility of her husband being saved and marrying Alex, a wealthy man, was a double blessing. The thought made her happy.
In the evening, Wendy called Alex to congratulate him.
"Alex, I saw on TV, you're amazing! You even managed to invite Mr. Ethan Cordell over for dinner."
But Alex was not in the mood.
He had spent the whole afternoon trying to contact Ethan, but with no success.
What was the point of inviting him over for dinner when he couldn't even get him to help with the treatment?
