Shirley turned around and looked at Braden. His eyes went cold again.
The air seemed to condense right now. They were on a warm island, yet it was so bone-piercing chilling.
Neither Shirley nor Braden spoke, however, the tension between them was so obvious.
"Damn!"
Nancy covered her face with her palms. She knew it! She was done for!
In her mind, the strange atmosphere was no different from that of a horror movie. Between the two, she was at a loss. She wished she could just jump into the sea.
"Well, Mr. Stewart, don't get us wrong. Shirley and I talk without boundaries. Sometimes we say things we don't mean it. We joke a lot. And... And..."
Under his strong pressure, Nancy gave in and tried her best to find excuses for Shirley.
Although Nancy didn't approve of Shirley and Braden getting back together, she didn't want things between Shirley and Braden to go south because of her meaningless conversation with Shirley.
