Chapter 46: Challenge Victor

Azandra POV

New Moon City had never looked so glorious.

She trotted across the stretch of greenery to the buildings on the outskirts, with Kyon and Marcus at her heels. The heights of Birdcliff greeted her in the distance.

Through the mind link, she sent two words to Dane. “Almost home.”

The trio made their way into town, past her father’s warehouse where Marcus had trained, past the shops and the cafes and the library. Before long, Birdcliff came into view, and Primmy dashed out of the house with a shriek, then ran to greet Azandra, who licked her hands and tasted the lemon oil that Primmy used on the furniture. Primmy turned and raced back inside the house, probably to alert Azandra’s parents.

Kyon nudged Azandra with his nose and thought, “Look.”

She turned to see a crowd gathered in the square, with all the Crestas standing outside Cresta House. She thought she spotted Tulaska holding up her medicine rattle from a distance, but she could be wrong.
