Chapter 14 : Welcome to the Jungle

Dee’s POV

“If Man is the fifth element,” I said to my reflection which was spiraling out into fractals of smaller versions of me thanks to the rainwater. Didn’t Yolanda Adams of News 47 say that showers were only a thirty percent chance today? Well, sure sounded like someone was getting fired… “And the Devil is six six six…does that mean God is seventh heaven?”

“Is she…are you quoting the Bible?” Jason Servos of the BrockU Bulldogs asked from the front seat of his fancy gray Mazda 3. “Dude, you got a fucking preacher’s kid high? Are you stupid?”

“Take a right on Ashton. And, her Dad is in jail not leading a congregation, asshole.” CB sounded terse and his leg kept…bouncing. It was distracting.

CB was in the front, holding a huge tote full of all the brownies we made, all the baggies and other goods were in the trunk. He’d said for me to not worry about it, but I did. I’d let him down and I didn’t like letting people down. Oh no, I was sad again.
