Chapter 22 : The Waiting Room

Dee’s POV

I hated hospitals. I do. I hated them more than anything else in this world.

The VA Hospital in Albany, New York does not hold a candle to the James J. Peters Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Bronx. The facility is older, a little more run-down, and ill-loved than the blue ribbon Bronx building. But, it’s the best one we have and the doctors care about their patients, which is a lot better than some of the other facilities we’ve been to.

I hated the hospital in Westbrooke, for example. St. Peter’s was pretty than any hospital I’ve ever been to and had world-class doctor’s there. No one had given a shit to see if I was okay besides the physical when the police brought me in after booking my father for the killings.
