Dance Studio

Leo looked down at the zombie gummy and frowned. "Not a single boost…."

"They are rare drops. They will not drop easily." Nora replied. "But I must say you are not doing too bad. You slaughtered your entire way here and got to level 4."

Leo had to admit he was getting quite good at killing zombies. His current stats had not gone up much, but his martial arts and swordsmanship both gained a level.

"Leo, the dance studio." Rebecca pointed at the building across the street from them. "The entrance is in the alley."

"Alright, let's check it out." They had finally arrived. It took half a day, but they finally arrived at the dance studio.

They quickly crossed the street. Any zombies in the way, Leo quickly dispatched. When they got into the alley, there were no zombies lurking around, which allowed them to relax a little. The alley was dim due to the buildings blocking the sun, but it was still light enough to see where they were going. About halfway down, they came to a stop in front of a set of stairs that you had to step down into. The door at the end was made of metal and looked tightly sealed.

"It should be open. I am just not sure if there are zombies inside." Rebecca could only hope that it was still open. Otherwise, they would need to clear the floors above. But she was already exhausted from walking so far. She also knew that Leo was tired as well. He had been doing all the fighting. Out of all the zombies they had run into and killed, she only killed five herself.

"Well, no time like the present." Leo walked down the steps and held the handle of the door. He leaned in close and pressed his ear against the door, but sadly, he could not hear anything inside. He took a deep breath and pushed down on the handle. A clicking sound was heard, making him smile. But just as he began to open the door, Nora yelled out to him.

"Careful, there are a bunch of zombies rushing towards the door," Nora warned.

"Rebecca, get back!" Leo yelled as he flung the door opened and drew his sword. The zombies rushing at him were girls around fourteen to sixteen years old. They had large chunks taken out of their flesh, making Leo wonder just how much pain these girls had to go through. They died so young….

He took a deep breath as he began cutting them down. He could not save them, but at the very least, he could put them to rest. "Damn…." Leo gritted his teeth as he killed the last zombie. Each one dropped a gummy. But he was not happy at all. He carefully picked them up one by one and brought them out into the alley. He could only put them here for the time being. He would figure out a way to give them a proper burial later on.

"Leo, are you okay?" Rebecca had tears in her eyes. She did not like seeing children as zombies. They had seen a few already, and Leo had cut them down and burned their bodies.  He said it was the only way to give them peace.

"Yeah… Sadly, I think I am getting used to this. Stay near the door. I will go check the rest of the studio." Leo walked inside. He looked around but did not hear anything.

"Leo, there is a changing room and a storage room outback. To the right is the dance studio itself." Rebecca knew this place like the back of her hand. She walked to Leo's side, not caring if he told her to stay put or not.

Leo did not say anything. He could tell she was worried about him. So he let her stay near him. They walked to the door open door of the dance studio and looked inside. It was very big with lots of mirrors. Blood streaks could be seen on the floor, but there was nothing else to take note of.

He continued to the back hallway where the backdoor was located, and to the left was a door to the dressing room. And to the right was the door to the storage room. "Stay back," Leo whispered as he put his hand on the doorknob to the dressing room. Rebecca nodded and stepped back with her bat at the ready. Taking another deep breath. Leo twisted the door knob and opened the door. A strong stench filled his nose as he looked inside. "Dead… all of them…."

"Mrs Kacey is here…. She must have brought the girls she could into the room and closed the door. This door has no lock, so she could only close it." Rebecca's eyes had tears in them. The kids she had brought with her to try to save were all dead. Each one of them had died from starvation.

"You need to kill them and quickly. This room was sealed off, so there was not much of the virus in the air getting in, but now…." Nora warned.

As she did, one of the dead little girl's bodies began to twitch. Leo pressed his lips together hard as he pushed Rebecca out of the room and closed the door. He only came out a few minutes later and closed the door behind him. "Dead people can not be exposed to the air outside…. I will take them out later and burn them with the rest. The teacher as well."

"Mmm…." Rebecca nodded. She turned and looked at the storage room. This was the last room, and it was highly doubtful that there would be anyone inside.
