Chapter 93-03

"Danny!" I said, my voice rising in volume as worry ran through me. "What're ya doin'?"

"Go away!" Her voice was harsher, and I knew she was still mad at me.

I ran a shaky hand through my hair. "Danny!"

She closed her eyes. "He's coming for me. I-I don't wanna get beaten today."

I growled at the image her words put in my mind. "Jump," I told her. "I'll catch you."

"Josh—" she said uneasily before glancing back, fear taking over her expression. You better catch me. I heard. Next thing I knew, she was flying, falling through the air, and I jumped to wrap her safely in my arms.

"There," I chuckled, enjoying the feel of her with me again. "See?"

"Put me down!" She screeched, clambering out of my protective hold.

Pain flashed through me, and I stepped up to her. "I love you, Danny."

Her expression didn't change, but she glanced up at her window. "Sshh!"
