"Why didn't you stop your people from spreading rumors?" she asked, standing in the elevator.
"One can't control someone else's mouth," he replied tersely.
"Aren't you afraid of hurting someone else's feelings?" Charlotte Green snorted coldly.
"There's only one person I'm most afraid of hurting in this lifetime," Kevin Cliff said, looking down at her.
Charlotte Green of course knew—it was Abigail Summer.
No matter how wrong she was, he couldn't bear to blame her even slightly. But did that woman not care? She had just announced to everyone that she was his ex-wife, wouldn't some of those rumors reach her ears, at least?
Gradually, Charlotte Green's initial fury turned into a feeling of revengeful pleasure. She was truly beyond help!
"And she will never be hurt by me again," because her heart was as hard as a wall of copper and iron when facing him.
Charlotte Green chuckled inwardly; of course, how could Kevin bear to hurt Abigail Summer? She naturally wouldn't be hurt by him.
